Discovery Bank

Has anyone been able to use the phone benefit without actually visiting an iStore? I live 3 hours from the closest iStore and really don’t fancy driving 6 hours to get a phone
For now it appears to be in-store only...

If you trust someone. I think you can give your login details to someone. And they can apply for you. But I remember them sending me a otp to my phone.

i used to be able to download statements from the app as a pdf. that option has disappeared from my android phone. the only thing I can do now is get a certified copy which is useless as I cannot save it and forward to myself or anyone else.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I don't remember changing any settings on my phone which have resulted in this happening
Same. I found a workaround. Open the app and open the statement. Then go into your phone's file manager. There's a folder called DiscoveryBankDocuments. The statement will be in there. Previously the file name was statement - and a bunch of numbers. Now it is only called statement. So, if you have multiple accounts you will have to rename the file first before opening the second statement. From the file manager, you can then email it as usual.

thanks, that works, but what a mission

Guys, any of you with the credit card, what interest rate do you have?
My rates

12% currently, can go down to 9% if I jump though more hoops

Thanks guys. I will apply. You just do it on the app right? Need to move as Virgin Money is closing down. Capitec gave me high enough limit to clear my Virgin Card and close it, but they want 15% interest where I currently get 12% with Virgin :(

Yup just go through the app, just be careful as it varies between the card you select when you on the app. Ie on platinum you will get a personal rate of like 12% and then on gold you will get 18%. At least it did for me.

Eish....I wont qualify for platinum lol. What is the monthly fee or does it vary?

Gold R75, Platinum R120, Black R185 for the credit card only. Interest rate on gold is high though. You can always change your color from gold to platinum or black after your account has been successfully opened, they don’t verify income at this stage.

Just did applicaiton on the app. They want 17.5% interest. Even higher than Capitec. Ai tog.

I have a very good credit score according to Capitec app. Seems this means fckall.

Like @binloud said, the rate is linked to te product you select, not your credit score.

Why not use an app like 22seven that will load all your transactions for analysis?

I use Microsoft Money to reconcile my accounts and track my spending habits. As far as I know, there is no reconciliation function in 22seven

If I may ask, how did you get it to work? Microsoft money that is. I tried it when it was launched but it said it's not available in SA.

Edit: Nevermind, I confused Microsoft Money with Money in Excel.

I just checked, I'm still able to download my statements. There is a download button next to the options button in the top right. Android app
