Discovery Bank

I am.awaiting delivery of my cc but when I click on apply for the 1+ account it brings me to the "leave details for discovery bank" to let me know when I can join but I got the email to join the bank so why can't I access application for the 1+ .I can only open up the savings account? Confused

I received my first cash back that goes straight into the vitality money acc.it was my fitness device and I think healthy food. I'm not sure if it's healthy care as that should still be loaded onto my dischem card unless they've changed that

Not sure whether to ask this here or the vitality thread, but considering the healthyfood, healthycare, and gym and flight boosters are now part of the bank, is there still a need to be paying for vitality health?

All of the benefits you mention are linked to Vitality, not Vitality money. The additional 25% gym booster requires a Discovery Bank account, not Vitality money as such.

So you need to have the bank account AND vitality to get the bank rewards? I feel like that wasn't made very clear by the bank...

You don’t need the bank for any of the Vitality perks, except gym booster. If you don’t have a bank account with Discovery you’ll still get 75% off gym, just not the 100%. But the 100% gym discount is dependent on you achieving your Vitality Active Rewards goals (regular Vitality) anyway. You get additional benefits with Vitality money though - I currently get 41% off healthy food at Woolworths instead of 25%, for example. But if eBucks has taught me anything, it’s that they make it harder and harder every year. So eventually you might in fact need both.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I know how regular vitality works as I have it already.

These are the rewards I was asking about. Do you need both regular Vitality AND Bank/Vitality Money to get up to 50% for HealthyFood, or just Bank/Vitality Money?

Apologies, I misunderstood. Yes you need both.

How did you go from 25% to 41%? I'm still sitting at 25 I have the new platinum card a vitaly money ACC and I'm on silver money status.

A bit off topic. I am same age as you and probably similar income bracket (I would also get the Plat. card.) Can you please enlighten us on what you need to achieve to have Gold Money status.

Not sure, to be honest. There’s no information available yet. I called to find out what one needs to do to increase the discount, but the banker didn’t really know either. She said something about the number of products you have with Discovery but couldn’t elaborate much. I have car insurance and life insurance with them so maybe that makes a difference. And my Vitality status is diamond. But how that translates into 41%, I have no idea.

You need 80,000 points to get to gold. And maintain gold for three years to get to diamond, I guess.

Here are some more screenshots explaining how points are calculated. You also get points for achieving money goals.
