Cheat tip: don't get your Kauai smoothy on the same day you go to gym, get it when you go to do weekly grocery run & make sure loaf all day ie your rest day . If you have the gym with Kauai on way home, stop by for a 2nd group Kauai on another freebie rest day..

Please rephrase this as I'm not understanding...?

Is it possible to still get Vitality points from a Nike GPS watch ? Perhaps by syncing between accounts / apps ?

Maybe if you can sync it to Garmin, which is the only one that was still working for manual uploads after the big revamp. BUT they also redid their own system, so I actually dont think that will work anymore either.

Sadly nowadays, you need one of the supported platforms.

Is anybody having trouble syncing their polar device with vitality?

It's been 3 days since I linked my profiles, but vitality says 'last sync: unknown'.

Anybody else having this issue?

My wife uses Polar with Vitality. Everything for the week is synced.

Yeah I've tried a few, synced my Nike+ account with Garmin, Suunto, FitBit but none of them worked. Kinda sucks cause it does import the heart rate data and everything.

Which one of the following devices would be best? I mainly do road and trail runs, but I am going to cycle more this year as I want to do a few triathlon events.

Garmin Forerunner 35, Polar M400 or TomTom Runner Cardio 3?

Any other recommendations will also help. Not looking to spend too much money tho, hence the list of budget devices (e.g I am not going to buy a Fenix 3 or XT920).

I bought a TomTom 2 on a black Friday special, I use it when playing squash and very happy with it, easy 300pts

Have you accepted the link from the Polar website side as well? We missed that step when connecting my wife's device. After that it started syncing properly around midnight.

Both her device and mine have been syncing fine after that (typically updates to Vitality within an hour or two of an activity). Been working fine each day this week

Thanks. I'll see on my next workout. Maybe I synced it after my first workout.

Runner

As a runner it is actually very difficult to obtain points and you start to realise the flaws in the points system.

As you get fitter, and hence faster, it is more difficult to get points. Running a 5k in training at 20min gives zero points. Which according to Discovery, implies that if I do a slow jog for 30min, that is a better exercise since I'll get 200-300 points.

I think there should be points awarded for workouts where you average above 90% of your max workout. This will also help people such as crossfitters who train with high intensity in short intervals.

It is also strange that there are no points awarded for 60+min workout at 60%+ of max heart rate, only 300 points for 70%+ workouts.

Run/walk/stroll the 5km Parkrun.. 300 pts for taking part.

On HR as a measure, totally agree because it rules out weight training but like all Discovery Vitality system interactions, just use and abuse to make points till they realize how silly it is. Telling them to fix it is like pissing into the wind

Is it possible to get the healthy food benefit from both Pick n Pay and Woolworth's? As in 25% from the one and 10% from the other. If so what's needed from the Woolworth's side (for PnP its swiping your health food's card)?
