Discovery Vitality [2017]

Anyone want to swap 2 Kauia wicodes for 2 vida e caffe wicodes. My girlfriend and I claimed the vida e caffe reward and the closest one to us is not worth driving to for free coffee. I'd rather have me a coco mango at Kauia.

Ugh, second dead Fitbit HR - first one replaced in warranty, second one now 18 months from purchase. Two friends have had warranty replacements and another two with bubbling on the bands -decent product/app when it works but am not spending any more money for this kind of reliability. Time to sped a bit more and get a Garmin.

Yes, had the same bad quality. Initially they gave me a new replacement and then the last time they gave me a refurbished unit. Both had the strap bubbling issue. Now they refuse to do anything maintaining that South Africa only has a one year warranty - whereas other areas have 2 years.

Fitbit sucks - I used to hold them in high esteem.

Not quite Vitality related, but how does Premier membership at VA gyms work these days? Can you activate it just for 1 month if you are travelling domestically? Maybe theres some kind of activation fee in addition to the actual premier subs?

If you know beforehand which VAs you will be visiting, check if they are part of 'Premier Select', which is a cheaper option and you can still go to most VAs, just less than the Premier option.

I had exactly the same issues. First unit stopped syncing and was replaced under warranty. Second unit started bubbling just after warranty expired and they would not replace it. They offered me 25% discount on a new one :crylaugh:

Won't touch their products again.

Reading through their support forums, the 25% seems to be their main MO for bands bricked out of warranty. Stories of people going through 3 bands and more - even though I like the look of the new Charge 2, not going near them again. Am still waiting on their final verdict on my issue, placing bets it will be the "25% off next purchase" -screw that.

Same issue with Fitbit charge HR, bottom strap detached from screen, out of warranty though.

Thanks, going to Bryanston VA. Looks like they aren't part of the Premier Select list.

IIRC (or not) in the past I got away with no activation fee for 1 month.

Well, I stand corrected :o, after a few days backwards and forwards, e-mails & live chats - I have now been notified that my device is still within warranty (not sure how that works). So Fitbit international are sending me a replacement band. Am still not convinced about reliability but I will certainly give them kudos for replacing the band a full 17 months after my original purchase date. Although I do understand that Fitbit international has a two year warranty so that might have helped my case.

My advise to anyone with Fitbit problems (out of warranty) is to take it up directly with Fitbit international, the local guys where very abrupt with me. Probably still getting a Garmin but will still use the Fitbit for squash as it has a much smaller profile.

Right, so I gave the contact center a call and got some answers. Pricing is dependent on what Vitality offering one is on, I'm on the pre-2010 'no monthly fee' option so what the consultant said is that there is a R200 upgrade fee and then the Premier monthly fee is R251 and then also a downgrade fee if I choose to downgrade later.

There is another option as she explained, so it seems the way to go is to transfer to the JHB branch (which incurs a R50 fee) and then transfer back to the CPT branch when I head back (another R50 fee for that). I'll action the transfers the day before each of my respective flights (to and from JHB).

So I dropped my Apple Watch last night, and the screen smashed. Now I see I'm an idiot since the replacement and fix of screen is 2-3k.

So I'm rather going to buy a new watch, however not sure if I should do it now or wait for the 3rd iteration. Or switch to something else...

So. I need to still to steps. What's the cheapest "nice" stepper that works? I've got a Fitbit at home, however it's for the wife, and I think it's 1500 new. Am trying to get an interim stepper for less than that, till I buy a new watch. Any advice?

I believe you can use the Withings app on your phone to count steps

Anybody still needing to join a Vitality Team? Looking for a few more Team Mates.

I'm using samsung s8+
even when u shake the phone it counts as steps taken :( not good 4 excersize - but luv it if I'm lazy & need to reach my weekly target :)

Anybody know why a Active reward would just fall away? I had a reward from the week before, and was only due to expire on the 19th July, didnt use it or redeem it anywhere, until yesterday, when i tried redeeming it, and it was gone. Nowhere to be found?

Checked Digital Cards if it was redeemed, nothing? Just Gone.
