Free smoothie... FML!! and I struggled, kept swiping and it said swipe faster - sounded like a chick.... landed on Mauritius reward at one time... bastards
Is the R219 per month fee worth it, right now I pay R580 odd for Virgin Active, would the discount offered for gym membership work in my favour?

What are the goals? As in workout 5 times a week sort of thing? It all depends on how active you are. I make my goals each week so my gym membership is free (100% discount), you earn a bunch of smoothies (individual & team reward) and I get 25% off healthy foods at PnP (about R300 pm) and 25% off at Sportsmans Warehouse. So in a month it could add up to a decent amount of savings/cashbacks/freebies.
BTW I won the R100 voucher for the surprise reward - after it eventually accepted my spin...
I've never considered the smoothies that healthy, so to me it mostly boils down to whether it makes my gym expenses cheaper.........Yeah it's worth it. My Virgin Active fee is R200 with the standard 75% discount. Plus you get the free smoothies every week.
I normally take both the wrap and smoothie for R55 with the discount. So essentially I get the R80 wrap and R50 smoothie for R55 which is a R75 discount. Been using this twice a week with the team rewards so around 8 times a month. R75x8 = R600 savings per month on wraps and smoothies at Kauai.

To activate the gym benefit on Vitality costs about R1800, even if you're already signed up for the gym - you have to end that contact, and start a new one and pay the activation fee. From there, if you visit the gym regularly, and meet your active rewards goals for every week, your gym membership will be free. You can however, only be on a one gym membership for it to be completely free
Now I feel very stupidI never knew this, I make my targets most weeks, but still paying the R200 something every month, in essence I will have to cancel my current contract and pay R1800 (9 months to make up the R1800), I do not even want to think about what I've lost already. I have a national access to all Virgin active gyms, will I loose this if I renew contract?

The goals don't increase too much. Mine started at 50 points and increased by 50 points a week. It stopped at 300 points and has been stuck on that for the last 2 months. I just do 3 gym visits a week for 3x100 points and don't go over.
