Discovery Vitality [2017]

Nope, only highest point exercise event gets recorded.

Ok, so meaning if I do another workout (running) this afternoon and my HR is high enough to get the 300 points, I will get the points? Note, I only got 200 points for this morning's workout.

I owe around R1000 on my Discovery card. As soon as I get my salary for this month, I am going to settle the outstanding balance and close the account.

When I emailed Discovery asking them about cancelling, they said that they have not removed the cashback from Uber. Whoop te doo.

You know, this change also makes maintaining Diamond status pointless. The benefit from Diamond status was mostly the cashback percentage you would receive. Now, I think it affects the discount you get on flights and that is about it.

Way to go Discovery - you have nerfed the system so bad that a lot of people may drop out of it entirely.

Yes, if you can get your HR up to 80%+ with the 30 minutes exercise, you will get the 300 points, this will replace the 200 points being the higher of the two.

Quick question, my Vitality Active Rewards goal is 900. Did a run this morning (and two other runs this week) and got my points up to 800. Seeing that today is the last day to get points and I already did exercise this morning, will it be possible to do another session this afternoon, perhaps just a 30 min walk to get the remaining 100 points?
Change the date on your phone to a date of this week that you didn't do anything. Then do the 10k steps, or exercise

+1 for the most part :)

Diamond status helps I think when you take out Discovery Life products? Not sure what else within the Discovery group...

I’m in the same boat. Cancelled discover card years ago. But I figure we worked hard for our diamond status so I make sure I stay there. Why?

1) my company I work for has a group life cover benefit with discovery - moved to it 3 yrs ago. So being diamond helped.
2) I figure they will eventually do some integration with vitality status and medical
3) I like the “game”

Same here, cancelling Discovery Card Feb/March when my watch contract is over.

Will keep Vitality for Life & Medical(only really good product) policy & a handful benefits which slowly but surely get worse.

Cancelled Discovery Invest this year.

Next move is cancelling Discovery Life if I can find a better deal. Cancelling Discovery Insure (new car on a different insurer, old car getting now) and household can be moved to another insurer.

Shampies.. when your product sucks you lose

Popular reward programmes are always destined to fail as volumes increase. It becomes very unsustainable if people are taking full advantage of them. I have seen this everywhere. FNB ebucks is another good example.

It’s a Game. When it ceases being fun we move on ;-)

Eish I'm just getting into the vitality thing. Sounds like I might have made a mistake.

Just do the math as it pertains to your situation, and decide if being a hamster on the Discovery exercise wheel is worth the monetary compensation. I suppose if one is not inclined to do the calculations, then it's quite likely one is not going to follow through with jumping through all the hoops to get the full benefit.

Discovery app v6.1.4 keeps crashing for Android.

Not sure if it's a known issue yet?

Anybody else experiencing this?

Me too, so frustrating!

Me too! I can't even go into the app. Tomorrow I get to spin for a reward so I hope it's working because I have been shacking my @@S for weeks to keep up with the escalating targets.
