Discovery Vitality [2018]

Yeah, what a win. My surprise reward expires today so was about to choose the car wash when I saw the new option. Except it kills my app every time I try to select it to get the code. I contacted Vitality and they're looking into it... they say they'll email me a code on Friday.
I managed to get a code. Waiting for the email from Discovery to send the voucher.

So Discovery emailed me the Uber promo code today. They say "Your complimentary R50 credit will expire after 2 weeks so please make sure to claim your reward before this date." I wonder: does this mean I have 2 weeks in which to apply the voucher to my account, and then an indefinite amount of time to use it; or does this mean the promo code itself will expire in my Ubereats account in two weeks?

no clue.. there are some vouchers that only work with new accounts and others that apply for existing users.. guess u need to check the voucher.

So I scored full points in the health check today, so 20k pts + 5k for HIV test.

Cholesterol was 4.99 mmo/l so I just made it :)
Didn't change anything over the last year, still have my take out food and cakes and sweets a few days a week. In the last 2 weeks though I did go low fat milk instead of full cream.

Edit: In the previous 2 annual tests I was around 5.9 mmo/l.
I see they now give a breakdown of HDL vs LDL & Trigs. I am down in all 3 scores this time around.

My results were all borderline 3 years ago but all excellent now. Went to the biokineticist today for the 3rd year, and the one thing that has not change for the better is my overall flexibility but should get the 7500. A much simpler set of tests than the very first one where they pushed you more physically.

Anyone else having issues on their app to sync? I can't sync my s health steps and it won't load my other linked devices , only s health shows up not my tomtom device

I can’t even log into my app on Android (login ok on iOS though). It keeps booting me off and hasn’t synced my activity since yesterday.

Im now able to sync s health but my tomtom has been delinked automatically and now I can't link it again

Does anyone know which bluetooth heart rate monitors work with the Apple watch?

I am aware of the Polar H7 and H10 but they are R800+. Are there cheaper options available?

Same issue here. My last successful sync in S Health was on the 15th, nothing after that. My TomTom has also disappeared in the app. According to their site they are aware of syncing issues so its another "wait for them to fix it" situation... :(

Has anyone ever won a SIGNIFICANT prize with a goal streak surprise reward? I doubt those prizes ever get an owner :(

All my spins have been a stupid core reward. The thing that frustrates me the most is the fact the the weekly goals are based on heart rate and not performance. How can a 10k in 50 min get 100 points but another guy walking 3km in 30 min gets 300 points ??

It sucks.

Is the built in monitor not working properly? With regards to cheaper heart rate monitors, I bought one a while ago and it wouldn't work with any device. Exchanged it and the replacement only worked for a short while before it also stopped functioning. Maybe I was just unlucky.

For 300 points you need to sustain average HR of at least 80% for 30 mins. If walking 3km in 30 mins (pretty slow pace) does that for someone then they deserve those points methinks. It would take an exceptionally unhealthy or unfit person to exert themselves like that for something so light.

I need to jog at a moderate pace just to get to 70%.

This is kinda why I stopped cycling.. cycling costs maintenance, race fee, transit, etc. and then you get 300pts for 80% hr for 2.5-3hrs.. vs 30min at the gym on a treadmill..

Every Saturday I do a Parkrun (walk) 5km for 50-60min and get my 300pts. (Rest day) which I feel is a cheat but meh.. they allow it so I do it (at least I don’t cheat like those ole that walk 1/2 the parkrun and the. Turn around to finish walk in 30min).

The goal is not to reward people with fast performances. Their goal is to reward people who are doing cardiovascular workouts. The guy doing 10k in 50 minutes is working his heart less than the walker. He needs to work harder. Strange how people are still struggling with understanding discovery's goal after all these years.
