Discovery Vitality [2018]

The goal is not to reward people with fast performances. Their goal is to reward people who are doing cardiovascular workouts. The guy doing 10k in 50 minutes is working his heart less than the walker. He needs to work harder. Strange how people are still struggling with understanding discovery's goal after all these years.

10k in 50 minutes will give your heart a pretty good workout. Only reason why you won't get 300 points for that is if you didn't use a heart rate monitor.

One also earns the points by merely exercising at VA, right? I never wear heart rate monitors.

Exactly. People feel entitled to get points for not actually working or not having anyway to prove that they did. They just want the pat on the back because...

This is kinda why I stopped cycling.. cycling costs maintenance, race fee, transit, etc. and then you get 300pts for 80% hr for 2.5-3hrs.. vs 30min at the gym on a treadmill..
...

If you are subscribed to the Endurance and High Performance thing-
Endurance - 70% + for 90 - 119minutes = 450 points
3 hrs at the same hr = 600

Sunday I received 600 points for a 2:34 cycle @ 133bpm

At 1200 target weekly nope.. 2nly needs to be 1.5k for an event for it to be worth the effort.

I’m starting to have issues with HR on treadmill now.. I can only slow to walk for 3x 60sec of the 30min run else hr avg drops too much.

Ugh at least I only have to do hr event once a week if I do the park run and then can do weight training 2x at gym. I easily walk 10k a weekday.

Why? What is attractive about Purple?

Also saw this option..

Workouts only give 100 (swipe) or 200-300 (based on Hr)

Barely (10k steps?).. I get hr to 90-100bpm max if there are steep hills and I wanna get done.

I call bull**** on you smashing 10k (steps or kilometers) in 50 minutes with a heart rate of 90 to 100... (unless you are on beta blockers or similar medication)

Even olympic level athletes are not that fit

two very different things, heart beat of 90-100 versus 90-100% of max

I meant 90 - 100 bpm not % of max.

I was saying that 90-100 bpm was too low for that sort of activity.

As a side note, the number you are using as your max heart rate might be a bit too low (220 - age is not very accurate).

The UberEats option seems to have disappeared from the Core Rewards option. Anyone know anything about this?

Parkrun a few weeks ago.. woodlands while gf was pissed with me fighting haha.. that route is slightly more uphill in parts.

Mind ye if I am tired my HR can drop down to 29-35bpm. Weird..

I use to cycle a lot, now I do a LOT of treadmill runs.. wait lemme pull up one of those..

I think you get a free additional device boaster for garmin fenix for up to R25000. 50% off selected spa treatments but not sure if it’s transferable to the gf.

I think the real kicker is their products. The benefits gets enhanced like their purple life which will cover my parents for sickness for free.

I’m gonna try work my way to discovery purple card but I hear you need to spend like R1.5 million per annum.

Anyone having issues with points not calculating from fitness activities? Garmin device linked to Vitality. The activities are showing up in the points tracker so the data is going from Garmin to Vitality but no points are being attributed
