Discovery Vitality [2018]

When buying HealthyCare items at Dischem, when do they typically award the cashback in the form of Dischem points? I bought a Fitbit Versa 2 days ago on 23 July.

Where can see exactly how the cashback for these items is calculated for dischem purchases. I purchased two devices at dischem, including a Fitbit versa early in June, but only the Garmin had VIT next to it on the receipt . I had immediately queried in the store and they said it was a new item, but it should be sorted out.

I had checked on the discovery website a few days after purchase but could not find anything. Kept on going in circles.

Forgot to follow up and your post reminded me.

You'll get dischem points on your billing cycle date.

There's no way to see the cashback details like healthy food. If you have a query, you'll have to send them a pic of your till slip

Yeah I mailed them last night my till slip and await a reply as I want to know it all went well before I open it :)

I've already been awarded R60 worth of points but the Fitbit should yield R500 if I am not mistaken? Assuming there is a monthly cap of that amount like there is or was for HealthyGear last year?

Note Ive bought nothing else this month from them so I'm thinking the R60 points already received yesterday is the normal dischem loyalty points and not the HealthyCare points for the Vitality device.

I'd have thought the points would come through together - so you're going to have to fight for those points. How did you know that you received R60 worth of points? Did you check at a till?

I decided to query on discovery website. while not expressly stated, according to their website , healthygear is only from totalsports or sportsman's warehouse. So I wonder if we will get 25% back for the purchase from dischem.

Let's see what they say ..

For me, if I get the 25% back, it will be an additional bonus, as I bought the devices with ebucks dischem 40% vouchers

I checked by logging into their website last night and my points increased by what looks to be a rand value of R60. I. E. Till slip at time of purchase 3 days ago indicated R152~ worth of points. Website last night indicated I had 21061 points.

HealthyGear is only at TotalSports and SportmansWarehouse as per website.
Dischem and Clicks you can use the HealthyCare for health related products to get 25/10% discount/cashback.

It's a HealthyCare item at dischem, not HealthyGear. Not sure if there is a cap applied per month for the cashback due.

Dischem replied to me, "I would advise you to contact Discovery as they are the ones doing the processing and calculation of how much points you will be awarded.

I can assure you that it has been sent to Discovery, as the transaction does appear as a HealthCare item on your profile, and you have earned points from our side."

Therefore the R60~ awarded is from dischem themselves. The Vitality cashback is still to follow...

When did you buy the actual item and when do you normally get cashback from things like healthyfood, healthygear, etc?

That's the date that you should expect the dischem points from Vitality. If not, then you know that you need to query with them

Bought it evening of 23 July but by 2:29am the next morning my HealthyFood cash back was EFTed to me. Obviously the purchase was too late for the last cash back run.

So the timing sucks because firstly I'll have to wait one month before I know for sure if it will be awarded correctly. And secondly if there is a monthly cap on healthycare items I have probably used up my cap for the next 30 days :/

Yep probably too late to be included then.

You can query Vitality to check if they have the transaction in their system - they should have it by now. I believe the cap is R2000 per month, so yes you've used your cap for the next month. Should have bought 1 day earlier!

I was waiting for them to get stock of that particular Fitbit and once they called to say it had arrived I told them I would go in the next day :/
