Boo - I was on a roll with the surprise rewards :( Hopefully the new system offers something decent.
 
So every time I check my active reward points I get a pop-up regarding Vitality drive- annoying as hell - anyone know how to disable it?

I've been noticing that too. I had a look around the app but I suspect the only way to disable it will be to actually sign up for Vitality Drive.

Noticed the same thing yesterday. Their annual Vitality Rewards shake up is coming at the end of the month and I won't be surprised if they somehow "force" users to also activate the Vitality Drive option, or at least promoting it for "better" possible rewards. And I swear spinning that effing surprise reward wheel is rigged, no ways I randomly get 98% core rewards. Discovery has consistently made changes over the last few years increasing goal posts, removing supported devices and just more hoops to jump through, but then also reducing the rewards. Think of it as a lose-lose situation for members. Whoever is behind this can choke on a carrot.

I have discovery drive and also have that pop up option, I've reported it to them.

So what happens between September till next year? Only just weekly rewards?

Sorry if this has been asked before.
Is the vitality discount on BA flights overseas worth while.
If i can get to gold will BA with the discount be cheaper then use travelstart or cheaptickets. I know for local tickets safair is normally cheaper then BA with the discount.

I haven't used overseas flights, but the local Kulula discounts (including flight boosters) are pretty worthwhile.

BUT - if you sign up for Vitality now, be aware you need to wait 3 months before being able to use the discounted flight stuff. And getting to Gold can take a few months, depending on how many marathons you run on a regular basis! ;-)

Definitely, flew too London twice last year, vitality worked both times. Was able to manage a R 8500 return in December which is really cheap for flying direct.

Got the monthly end-of-cycle Vitality sms informing me of my R500 healthycare cashback, will have to confirm that by logging into dischem's website.

Oh yeah, so I guess it's capped at R500 monthly.

Seems gone now, after the latest update.

I get a pop-up asking for location permissions every time I open the app. I disabled location permissions because there's no reason for it to know my location, and it polls location hundreds of times per minute.

The location is for when you want to use the "emergency assist". Which while I have never used it, do seem plausible. It will send details and location and stuff to them. Easier to do than phoning 112 or something.

I assumed it was for the insurance. Surely the emergency assist could get location when needed, not constantly?
