For those of you on bank, check your miles balance. Turns out I got miles for my plays. Still have one play left but The gameboard won’t load anymore.

With The previous “points” system the minimum during a play was 25 points or basically R25.
Seems the minimum is now 50 Discovery Miles, ie only R5. Ok plus the supposedly 100 Miles for the goal is still only R15.
Why do I get the feeling we are being done in by with these so-called “improved” rewards?

100 per goal achieved plus whatever is uncovered on the game board. I didn't get the 100 (300 for all 3 goals) yet though, hopefully from next week.
I got 65 miles on my account for 1 spin, I haven't been able to complete the other spins.

Thanks for spotting this. Spoke to the call centre this morning and they didn't seem to know that for some of us, miles were awarded. I received 50 and 150 miles for two spins. So much for getting the required additional 15 coins in order to redeem my last R250 shopping voucher.

Yeah it does seem like a step backwards in some ways. Though we don’t know what awards will be available yet, and what they will ‘cost’. Then there’s also the miles we’ll be getting for completing health checks, achieving health goals, buying healthy food etc. And the miles from bank for those who have credit cards. Hopefully all this adds up to something worthwhile.

I don't know. If you reach your goals, you get 100 miles + min 25. miles on the board. Which is equivalent to a Vida coffee. Which is the same as it is now. I haven't worked out whether it is worth it on the higher rewards though.

Edit: Just logged into app: points will be converted to Miles on the 11th of January.

Also get bonus play if you have 100 points or more . So you could have 5 plays next week

am I right that it’s better to buy coffees with your vouchers / points, than it is to convert points to miles at 6 to 1?

Personally I think it’s best to let them accumulate (for up to 5 years) until something worthwhile comes along. I’m sure they’ll integrate miles into their other products like investments, like they did with the Vitality Open (like buy a R10,000 investment with 80,000 miles as a silly example).

If you are getting 100 miles a week, the math says that it will take you just over 15 years to save up those miles if you only have health with discovery.

But you’ll get much more than that. Eg. I if I spend R2,000 on Healthy Food in a month, I get 8,000 miles back (assuming I’m at 40% with bank. 5000 if one has health only).

Edit: See attached example from Discovery. Miles will add up very quickly.

Looking to move over to vitality, just checking for the reason there is demand to buy miles, even at more than 10 miles to a rand. Is there some multiplier/discount effect similar to eBucks discounts? Where can this be used? There are so many brochures around that I don't know how to understand it all (and hats off to all who understands it)
No, there's no multiplier like with eBucks. The person wants to buy 11.5 miles for a rand, which means they'll spend R10 on 115 miles. 115 miles will buy them R11.50 of goods, so they are trying to get R11.50 of goods for spending R10.

So, it is worthwhile keeping 100 points and getting them converted or should I just spend them?
I think you should hold them. I have 215 so I'll have a decent amount of Miles.

Anybody know after how many weeks your Active rewards decreases after not making the 900?
