Do you have a link to the brochure that has some clues? It just doesn't make sense that we would be able to order a R40 drink with R15 worth of Discovery Miles. Discovery Miles have a set value range of around R1 = 10 to 15 Miles.
The brochure is linked on the first post of this thread.

A coffee at Vida e is 125 miles / R12.50.
So this works out the same as before then as the minimum you get for a goal is 125. I'd assume this scales up as well. So it is likely better to keep your points and let your miles be converted. Then as long as you aren't converting your miles to cash, you can purchase the discounted vouchers on the Discovery app as before.

Looking at the chart it should be 350 miles for R100 woolworths voucher. So it be 875 miles for R250 vouchers?

My 250 rewards points will become 1500 miles so might be worth it to convert it to miles.

I'd still say eBucks then, no way capitec paying you hundreds of rands every month to bank there.

After bank charges I clear 800 to 900 a month, I know guy who are clearing over 4k a month in eBucks.

The nice thing is if you use the calculator a thumb suck can give you a good idea in like 2 minutes but if u that way inclined you could pull your current statements, spend like 30 minutes doing the math and then have a really good idea.

With discovery it's "pay us R300 a month and maybe, if you lucky, you'll get something out"
With discovery i get around R400 and thats only on vitality drive without the extra 25% from bank. This should change once i get their credit card. Plus if you add the apple watch and the iphone thats more than R1500 of value you MIGHT get. Emphasis on might.

When multiplier miles were still a thing, getting to diamond was important because it was used to determine the multiplier. Now that multiplier miles are gone, what is the point of getting to diamond on health?

Used to determine increases/payouts on other discovery policies. Eg RA, life insurance

Ah, I only have health and bank. I don't really use bank - planning to cancel it once my watch is paid off.
I guess this year I'll only be aiming for Diamond for my own personal satisfaction.

That aim won't be happening for you this year.

That's a very good question you raise. I think the only benefits left that depend on Vitality status (if you only have the Health product) are the flight and hotel discounts. The incentives for gaining status are certainly markedly reduced these days. Certainly a change from the original Discovery model of encouraging healthy behaviour.

I've never used the hotel and flight discounts...maybe I should start to make it worth my efforts.

Where does one find the active health trackers
on the discovery app ?or is linking a fitness device the same thing?

Also is anyones else's personal goal not reflecting what needs to be done? Mine says 0/4 goals but doesn't say like I need to do flu shot etc?

Having skimmed this thread I can't be sure if the following has been raised?

Assuming a Platinum Suite, the Discovery Miles benefit for credit card transactions will pay you back a MAXIMUM of R100 for a R15,000 spend (assuming you are on diamond vitality money). After that its a much lower return of 1 rand per R1000 spend.
For those of us on bronze (as I currently am), the R15,000 spend translates to a miles benefit of R30.
While I understand that there are other benefits at play, where is the incentive to 'spend' to get Miles?

It is launching next week, then you will be able to purchase stuff from the discovery active rewards section with miles.

Well lets see if that makes a difference. They will seriously need to discount rewards so that 1 miles is worth a lot more than 10c in order to make the R30 (or 300 miles) actually worth it.

I looked into insurance and they wanted more than double what I'm paying now with higher excesses I'd need to increase my fuel spend 4 fold to break even, not even remotely worth it.

Even for free I would not disgrace myself with an apple product. I like smart devices not overpriced pretty ones.

So apparently the minimum that can be won on the game board starting next week will be 125 miles for each spin according to Discovery Vitality CEO, as each spin will still meet the minimum amount to purchase a free smoothie (which is 125 miles)

A smoothie is 40 points not 25 so 125 miles won't get you a smoothie either.
