I have the multiple clubs option. There are two clubs I usually visit on the regular, with another two/three that I rarely visit for whatever reason. So does that mean I'd never qualify for the 75% (or 100%)?
Ok, so if you achieve all your goals in a month, and have gym booster, the max you'll get back is 85%

Has anyone double checked that their total spend for the previous month (which defines your spendband and thus determines how much cashback you receive on the current month's purchases) is correct? According to my Discovery Bank App, my current cashback on Healthy Food is 37%, but according to my calculations it should be 40%.

I have a Black Card (not Bundle) and Silver Money status.

I queried, and they told me that:
- my qualifying spend for December is just over R18,000.00,
- I fall in spendband 6
- my healthy food cashback amount should be 35.5% (even though the bank app shows 37%, and even though it should actually by 40%).

I know that their numbers are incorrect, because according to my Miles Account my qualifying spend for the calendar month of December is over R26,000.00. I confirmed this by calculating all of my qualifying purchases for December by hand (no export to CSV functionality yet?!), and came to the same amount - over R26,000.00.

So, according to Discovery's own numbers (see attached table) I should be getting 15% on top of my usual 25%, so 40% caschback on Healthy Food.

Has anyone else actually double checked that theirs is correct? I do not have much confidence in a product where I constantly have to double check and audit everything. I spoke to both Vitality Rewards and Discovery Bank, and they are now manually calculating my spend, since the system does not give them the correct numbers. I will post an update.

Okay, so it seems like they are struggling with purchases that have been made in the previous calendar month, but only clear in the next month. I.e, I made purchases on 30th and 31st of December, which only cleared on 2 and 3 January. On my app, these purchases are still shown as having happened in December, but their system seems to work on the date the purchase was cleared. So, something to be aware of.

Cool, so it seems the new minimum will be 150 miles. From what I can tell, the only real difference is that your miles won't expire, but reward points did

So what's the general consensus, keep points and let them convert to miles or spend your points now?

I went with spend points now, it sounds like with the conversion the value will be less than what you can do with it now

Converting mine. As you get bonus play also.

I want R250 exclusive books voucher which I can buy now. But converting will get me 1500 miles from the 250 points.

The voucher with miles will cost a max of 1000 miles.

Cool shot, I'll hang on and convert to miles also and see how it plays out.

Yes, that is correct. Miles earn rate is based on transaction date and spend band is based on when it clears.

The conversion thing is absolutely crazy they really trying to get some extra cash in. 1 point being 8 miles so ie 80 cents is given to you per R1 ??

Yes, mine is 0/4 even though I’ve gone for my checks already. Flu shot goal will only appear closer to winter.

Some of the pricing for rewards are questionable but the lower tier rewards are pretty good.

Can’t find pick n pay or dischem vouchers but assume they will cost 600 miles for every R100 which is pretty good.

Will have to see points for the board game on Wednesday though.

Dischem is under meals. 1000 miles for R100 voucher.

Oh right I see. Was looking at the wrong category. So it’s pretty much the same.

Then it’s just better to pay with your miles in store. Cos it expires later
