So apparently the minimum that can be won on the game board starting next week will be 125 miles for each spin according to Discovery Vitality CEO, as each spin will still meet the minimum amount to purchase a free smoothie (which is 125 miles)
100 miles for reaching the goal and 25 on the board I guess he means.

That seems way to low, effectivly R12.50 vs current R25 as the minimum for reaching each goal.

The reference was clearly to "spins." But I see now that smoothies will be 200 to 250 miles each.

I am also concerned that is how it will work. Ie half rewards compared to current. Where did you see the cost of smoothies? Were other costs noted.

So I"m thinking of dropping Vitality and VA gym membership.
My local gym (where I had been for years before I switched to VA) has a January special for R299p/m and no sign up fee. I'm guessing the money I'll be saving per month (two members- myself and my fiance) will be more than any perks and 'cashbacks' I'll get from Vitality. I still need to go sit down and do the math.

Anyone want to tell me why I'm wrong or what I'll miss out on? (Serious question).
Then another question, can't remember seeing it anywhere but what is the impact of having/not having Vitality on my medical aid? I'm guessing nothing. I've also never had diamond status before and guessing I'll not achieve it this year either if I keep Vitality -for whatever that is worth.

I have Dischem and Woolies linked to my Vitaltiy, for what it's worth.

That's if you are looking at the cash value of miles. The vouchers will be discounted. So 125 miles (the minimum in the future) will get you the same things as 25 points (the minimum in the past).

Gym is free if you hit your weekly goals so you will be paying R299 per member at the new gym, where this could be R0.

Vitality is only R300 a month for 2 people, so basically R300 a month for 2 gym memberships and some money back.

Okay, So I seriously need to look at hitting the weekly goals.
I'll need to find the relevant info to get my facts straight. They're not dropping this perk for 2020 and onward?
Then, I do not have a fitness device. How high does the weekly target rise at it's max, and is it still possible to hit the limit without the aid of a fitness tracker? Sorry if these sound like really noob questions.

I have considered the same thing.
Basically the only thing stopping me is my apple watch, but im considering settling it, and cancelling all vitality and credit card.
eBucks is simpler for me to follow and this change to discovery miles thing is confusing. (Although i have been lazy to read all the new rules)
My gym membership is with Viva gym so I dont get anything back there and its pretty cheap already.
I also don't shop that much at pick n pay or woolworths for healthy food so my earn there is minimal too.

Yep you can still reach max goal of 900 even without fitness devices . Would mean park run and gym everyday day through.

The gym booster has been dropped but if had before the start of the year you still get the benefit. This pays the extra 25% require to get gym for free. To get this you need hit the weekly goals. The new version requires you to bank with them.

I think I had gym booster- but like I said, I didn't hit my weekly goals. Does it get cancelled then or fall away?
Also, the 900 points per week- so that is 7 gym visits and a park run? So gym + park run on a Saturday?

Currently the gym tracker in the app says I'm saving 60% on gym fees. I have 76/36 visits and have basically been hitting the gym like crazy as of 1Jan - I want to drop 10kg before my wedding in March. Not seeing anything about about gym booster but I'm assuming the fact that I'm at > 50% means it is activated?

Max weekly goals is 900 points.
ParkRun = 300, then 100 per gym visit/1000 steps for the other 6 days.

You'll need to be on a '1 club' membership to get to the 75% off. Not the membership where you can go to multiple clubs

I have the multiple clubs option. There are two clubs I usually visit on the regular, with another two/three that I rarely visit for whatever reason. So does that mean I'd never qualify for the 75% (or 100%)?

Has anyone double checked that their total spend for the previous month (which defines your spendband and thus determines how much cashback you receive on the current month's purchases) is correct? According to my Discovery Bank App, my current cashback on Healthy Food is 37%, but according to my calculations it should be 40%.

I have a Black Card (not Bundle) and Silver Money status.

I queried, and they told me that:
- my qualifying spend for December is just over R18,000.00,
- I fall in spendband 6
- my healthy food cashback amount should be 35.5% (even though the bank app shows 37%, and even though it should actually by 40%).

I know that their numbers are incorrect, because according to my Miles Account my qualifying spend for the calendar month of December is over R26,000.00. I confirmed this by calculating all of my qualifying purchases for December by hand (no export to CSV functionality yet?!), and came to the same amount - over R26,000.00.

So, according to Discovery's own numbers (see attached table) I should be getting 15% on top of my usual 25%, so 40% caschback on Healthy Food.

Has anyone else actually double checked that theirs is correct? I do not have much confidence in a product where I constantly have to double check and audit everything. I spoke to both Vitality Rewards and Discovery Bank, and they are now manually calculating my spend, since the system does not give them the correct numbers. I will post an update.
