Discovery Vitality 2021

Sorry please explain the last part, the theoretical cap of 300 x 7 for special events. Is this like park runs and other races, gym visits for which you also get points etc?

The maximum points per day is 300. That is 30 minutes of exercise at 80% of your maximum heart rate. Type of exercise does not matter.

To get this you would need a device that can monitor your heart rate.

I just wanted to check something. I decided to use some miles on dischem, I now have a voucher I'm assuming. Therefore, I just get the cashier to scan the QR code and it will automatically deduct my purchase amount?

Do you have to separate your food at the checkout to qualify for the healthy food discount at Woolworths? Like veg going trough and rung up separate from frozen pizza or whatever?

Sorry, quite new to this stuff.

Don't bother separating things. The points difference is like 20 or something IIRC.

How long after the first can you do the second online mental well-being assessment for the year?

What exactly does the Fitness Assessment entail? I see the website simply states cardio and strength / flexibility.
My reason for asking, I'm legally blind so want to know if I'll be able to do what they ask of me, running on a treadmill, riding a bike, running or whatever.

Basic stuff to test flexibility and strength. Lots of emphasis on good form. Squats, lunges, pushups, flexibility and balance tests, and a six-minute walk/cycle. Nothing too heavy and no high reps - I was very untrained when I went last year and I aced it.

Might be worthwhile to call a biokineticist and see if they have a different approach for the blind.

Nah I'll just go for it, sounds like it will be no problem. Floor / matt exercises is fine and so is normal machines like bikes, treadmills and rowing. As long as they don't expect of me to do crazy stuff like walk across a balance beam or test hand eye coordination.

BTW Obese, super unfit, 125 kg me thought exercise at 80 to 89% HR will be impossible when I started with this Vitality journey just a couple weeks ago. My 80% HR is 150 BPM, today I was above that for at least half of my 34 minute cycle, so now I know it's very much possible.
