for me, mapmyfitness wasnt always a good sync for points. many times it never synced to vitality.

Garmin Connect sync is very reliable, syncs every 5 minutes with Vitality. So quick.
Runkeeper fairly reliable as well, syncs every hour or so with Vitality. So fairly quick.
Mapmyfitness is a hit and miss at best of times.
Strava....not sure, I only added it recently.

Created a garmin connect account to test.

So now I have
Fitbug->Vitality
Wahoo->MMF->Vitality
Wahoo->Garmin->Vitality

Vitality website only shows the 1st 2, even though the garmin website shows a read connection to vitality.
And about 5 mins after setting up the garmin sync, I got my workout points. Woop.

Think I might remove MMF and see if garmin pops up in its place.

Question: Can wahoo auto share the workouts or do you manually have to do it after each session?

Ugh.. spoilt by the jawbone's auto upload... just so convenient.

Surely it can't be that difficult to code it in so here's hoping it can be added as feature for the next release.

Maybe contact Wahoo and ask them if they can add the feature as an opt-in setting? Where you can turn auto-share/upload on or off.

After having the heart rate belt for a few days, I have to agree with the sentiments of others. It is much easier just using heart rate values to get points, than using GPS speed ect.

Visiting the gym for 100 points...meh when you need 800 and up.
Running at 8km/h for 20 minutes nets you 300 points, which is the main one I have been using up to now, but running on a skew road hurt my 1 foot and now I can't overdo it anymore. So meh.

Using the heart rate monitor, I can go back and do my normal strength routine at the gym, and get an easy 300 points after 20 minutes of doing what I want to do anyways.

For fun, I did a 60 minute indoor cycling activity at the gym, using an effort setting of only 3 on the bike (those who have used it, knows that is super easy), and got an easy 600 points after a single workout, just keeping my heart rate at an average of 134 (slightly above my 70% of 131.2). And I am nowhere near super fit. (ps. the bikes heart rate reading was very similar to that of my belt)

The SO, doesn't have a gym membership, but also finds its easier. She now runs at an average of 6.5-7km/h instead of 8km/h for 20 minutes, and still get her 300 points for the exercise, because her average heart rate is still high enough for the points.

So all in all, that Muvit heart rate belts are worth it from Makro, if you don't want to spend more for the other options, and have a Bluetooth 4.0 LE capable phone.

Once a week on Mondays I visit my father-in law for an hour or so. I cycle 15 mins there, hang out and then cycle another 15 back. I put Strava on, pause it when I arrive and then unpause when I leave again. It always gives me 600pts because for some reason it's counting it as >1 hour of workout. I use it for a quick points boost for the week, even though I already did a much more strenuous gym workout this morning for a pathetic 100 points.

Sounds like a bug.
You work out for 30min, but take a 60min rest in-between, and somehow you get 600 points, which is for a 90min workout using a GPS device.

Can use that bug for now, but I am sure at some point that will get fixed.

TomTom Spark is now available at Makro. Anyone here got one yet? I want to know how to sync activities, HR data and step count ImageUploadedByMyBroadband1456143393.275004.jpg

Here's a pic of the Spark+Music (small) vs. TomTom Multisport.

I went to mymapfitness though and it wasn't there as an option to link...

Fair enough I don't see it in the app either.

Maybe try this:
https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us...y-uploading-to-Strava-from-your-TomTom-device

Says you can sync TomTom MySport to Strava. I would try that if I had such a device.
http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/an...my-gps-sport-watch-activities-on-my-computer?

Seems like TomTom MyConnect is software on your pc, that can upload data to runkeeper ect. that it downloads from the watch.

Edit:
Looks like there is app software for the phone too:
https://www.tomtom.com/en_us/mytomtom/mysports/

Then you bluetooth from the watch to phone app, then phone app uploads to Runkeeper/Strava ect.

Ah ok cool thanks. I currently don't have a device. Was trying to make my mind up about the TomTom vs the fitbit surge (which looks much nicer). Don't want to buy a device if it's not going to work. I read on here that Discovery doesn't recognise the fitbit HR yet though...

Ps. only the TomTom Spark Cardio and Cardio+Music has the HeartRateMonitor.

Does Makro have the Spark Cardio at all? That seems like the best one to get for lowest price. I wouldn't go for the ones without heart rate monitor, now that I know what a difference it makes with Vitality Active rewards.

Ok I read further on the website. If you take the cheapest one, you can still pair it with a bluetooth LE heart rate monitor belt. Question is, will it work with something like the igotU/Muvit belt.

I am also looking at the tomtom and still in two minds, but leaning towards it.

I included below Discovery's email on how to link a tomtom account. My question is how to sync steps during the day, because I've read that mapmyfitness only syncs steps during the workout not during the rest of the day...

Please see the below steps to linking Tomtom :

1. Download and install the TOMTOM MySports Connect application (Windows or Mac).

2. Open the application and connect the TomTom GPS watch to the computer.

3. Once the watch has been recognised, click on the "UPLOAD & EXPORT" tab.

4. Click the "ADD" button seen at the bottom of the screen.

5. A pop-up appears and it shows various third parties that may be used to upload TomTom data. MapMyFitness is listed here. Click on it

6. This will open the TomTom MySports login/ sign up page on the user’s web browser. It states that the user must input their MapMyFitness account credentials

7. Upon successful login, the user is prompted to link TomTom MySports to their MapMyFitness account

8. Clicking ‘Allow’ will open a consent pop-up from MapMyFitness

9. User clicks ‘Authorize’ and is then shown a success confirmation page. This screen also instructs the user to close the page.

As per my pics above, Makro had the following models available:
TomTom Spark R1999 (no optical HR)
TomTom Spark + Music R2999 (no optical HR, but has 3GB storage)
TomTom Spark Cardio + Music + Headphoness R4499 (this is the top of the range model with optical sensor, 3GB storage and also comes with water resistant bluetooth headphones).

All the TomTom Spark models come standard with Bluetooth LE, a step counter and GPS.
