Discovery Vitality in 2016

Here's my experience so far:

Current status: diamond, maxed out on fitness points

Week 1: Goal - 600 points, achieved, had a Vida ice coffee
Week 2: Goal - 650 points, achieved, as well as team goal achieved. Two nut milk smoothies - delicious!
Week 3: Goal - 800 points. This week.

Points through using Fitbit on my phone (just walking around at work, plus walking to Woolies at lunch every day gets me to 7500 steps, i.e. 150 points - then I throw in 1 or 2 gym sessions as well)

So obviously I'd also like to know how goals are calculated. Did my team achieving their goals penalize me?
I've made sure to not smash the goals and to only just achieve them - i.e. on friday I was playing golf so I turned off the mobilesync on the fitbit app.

Want to make sure that when the apple watch kicks in, I don't have a ridiculous goal to achieve!

Anyone with some inside info?

So for the average person who is not fitness obsessive, this means getting maybe a handful of free smoothies or coffees over a few weeks and then the goals will get too difficult to achieve at which point you won't get more unless you devolve back into a potato couch for a while?

yep, also keen to understand the apple watch construct.
concerned about how aggressively your target climbs, could become a watch that you will pay for
at what point does the watch become yours (not having to pay anything for it if you don't reach your goals)

Found these articles:

So the discount on the watch or it being free is dependent on you reaching your goals - the question is what are those goals going to be?

Also, it's a pity that they chose the apple smart watch IMO. I would much prefer them giving me a fitbit for free...

Or any other device that isn't dependent on my owning an iPhone

Stupid question, but does each adult dependant need to create an account on Discovery.co.za to be able to do the age assessments, etc, or can they be done from the master account?

yes, separate account per dependent (well that is what my SO and I have done)

Yup, if that's the case I'm out in any case and would rather just make use of the vitality healthy gear discount or MSA claim when buying my own device.

I forget, were they offering a free smoothie for downloading the Discovery app and then rating it?

Anyone else having problems with discovery not syncing with va? Not being awarded points for clocking in.

Seen a bunch of people on FB complaining about gym visits not showing up

My goal has always been at 800 I think it's because I max out my fitness points in June and every month +/- I do a cycle race which gives 3k points.

Also hoping it doesn't climb higher and higher than that as 800 means 3x 150 gym (I know it's dropping) and step count bonus or cycling non event x4 which means it's pretty out of reach already. So yah.. I don't see this getting reached unless u walk a lot but remember the whole event per day limit so uhm..

There is not an event per day limit as long as the events are of a different type. If you upload 30mins walk or run, and also gym, you will get points for both activities.

Not true for me :(
On days I go to gym and reach my Fitbit step goal, I get 150 points for that, but none for gym.
Queried this with Discovery and they said only 1 activity per day will count (for both vitality points and vitality active rewards).
