Any suggestions for reputable and cheap satellite dish installers in the Durban, Pinetown area?

I have the decoder so just need a new dish, and cabling to one point, installed. Got a price of R1200, which appears to be for a mild steel dish, and another for R 1800, for an aluminium or fibreglass dish. Both seem a bit hefty! Or not?

Are you sure? I've heard it can be a biatch.

Get the equipment yourself from somewhere like Space TV, you will save on what installers charge you

Get an installer to put the dish & LNB up if you are not sure, it could get frustrating. I got an installer to put an LNB up for me for R150 (PM me if you want his number)

Cabling you can do yourself if you are willing to do some climbing & crawling, and understand or research how it needs to be be done

Look at where the neighbours dish is pointing. Point yours in the same general direction, you could set it according to correct angle. Have decoder and small tv handy close by making small adjustments to dish until the reported signal quality is 90%+. Next loosen the lnb slightly and move it forwards or backwards until you get the highest signal quality. Make sure you have no trees or other objects obscuring the signal path.

Alternatively mount and install everything and just get someone out to come do the alignment for you ;)

The TOP TV installers covering the Durban and surrounding area are MOBILE CONNECT and contact numbers are 0835879786 or 0846278664.
Dawood is excellent at his job and can install, align the dish and everything else that needs to be done.

Why don't you get one of those R650 DSTV specials - decoder + dish + instalation. Then if you don't need the decoder, sell it to recover even further of the cost and use your current one.

This wil surely save you a lot of money, and while at your premises ask the installer to connect you current decoder for xtra view perhaps, that will be killing two birds with one stone :D
