Also say Bosch, ours is nearly 10 years old, still going strong. And it's the cheap model.

Had a Whirlpool. It broke to the point that the repairman couldn’t figure out the problem.

Bought a Bosch. Works perfectly.

I splashed out on a Smeg, about 6 years ago.

2 major repairs within guarantee, one out of guarantee... then I bought a Bosch. No problems with that.

I am using a Kalvinator for approximately 4 years now, no issues whatsoever up to this point. Can't complain about it at all. Using it Daily, every second day at least.

w.r.t your Plumbing question. If your Washing machine is in the kitchen, you can get a Y Connector and use the same inlet tap, and probably add the outlet pipe to the same one the washing machine is using.

What went wrong with your Smeg?

I also have a 6-year-old Smeg (they're the only company that seems to supply 45cm dishwashers, which is what I have space for), and it's going strong so far, except that the rubber lining works its way loose. I'm hoping it's still got a few good years left since I'll have to remodel the whole kitchen and make space for a 60cm dishwasher when it does finally break.

The sales rep at makro was really pushing AEG, does anyone have any experience with AEG ? it seems like it is a German brand like Bosch.

They also last long. Have a AEG oven still going strong. If you get a good deal take it.
