Dissapointed with IOS 7

Cool story bro. Please tell me how the apple flat desktop with icons(some in folders) and quick launch stuff at the bottom is any neater or better than the android equivalent?
The icons in ios7 are mostly terrible, I cant wait for the jailbreak to get those horrible things changed.
ios just copied the quick toggles(badly) they dont have an option to get into full settings and the ones allowed on the ios quick launch barely cover the basics.
Ios hasnt changed since its first release other than some new colours and a quick settings in ios7 but it get heaped with praise each time because apple claims it to have magic ponies that shoot glitter out of their poopers.
Its exactly the same with android, lots of background stuff happens on each update and it moves forward but doesnt have apple guys in polo neck shirts talking about glitter.

For me personally Apple has some very cool API's that assist in making apps look quite cool. I dont feel that Google makes it as easy with Android and this is subjective but I think Android is looking quite plain.

I also think that Apple is a lot smarter on the back end in terms of making an OS which makes the most of the battery. The solution on the Android side is to make bigger phones with each iteration to cope with battery drain.

Running it on my iPad 4 and no issues at all. Loving it!! As refreshing an update as it is I'm still eagerly awaiting the jailbreak. The foundation is there, the ability to tinker is imperative...

Agreed, the update makes it even more user friendly than ios6 was out the box. I like it, wont say love it yet. Methinks it's time to get your jailbreak on!

I need the JB to get rid of the stupid lock screen. My iPad lives next to my bed, I don't need the lock screen and I don't need an expensive cover either. Damn irritating. Thank goodness Spotlight is out of the way now (also don't need it).

Yup, spotlight irritated the crap out of me. Was seriously considering writing some code to get around that bothersome lock screen...

The revolutionary features werent talked about that much.

64 bit is something quite significant and so is iBeacons, they're laying a lot of groundwork right now that will pay dividends later on.
I think that was a conscious decision on their part.

Panoramas is heaven forbid an Apple-first item that they adapted.
Actually, Panoramas have been around long before Apple implemented it; My Sony Erricsson W900i had panoramas and before that, some camera's had panoramas.

Currently in comparison Android feels lifeless, static and plain.
Which version of android are you comparing? All functions in Stock Android 4.3 have animations; fading in/out. minimizing/maximising; sliding in/out; animated backgrounds;

I love how you resort to mockery when I talk about intangibles like design, look and feel, physics-based interactions, etc. Blind spot perhaps?

"Design" and "look and feel" are very objective. I agree it is a well built pone but the design is pretty boring. "look and feel"? The soft pastel colours don't do it for me personally. As for "physics-based interactions", I group them with words like "Touch ID" and "capacitive and clickable" among other Apple mumbo jumbo words thought out to make the iPeople feel intelligent so I pretty much ignore them.

So purely coincidental then? K. Probably the new gold Galaxy S4 is also completely coincidental because there were gold phones before.

4.2.2 was the last version I used. Yes there are animations in place but they're timid and underdeveloped next to iOS7's. In iOS it's stuffed with flourishes (I think there's actually too many and some last a bit too long), particle effects, bouncebacks, gaussian blurs, dynamic text, 3d animations (check out the new timer), transparent meshes, z-axis transformations, all quite well thought out.

How do you clear the the app updates that have already been updated?

You don't. Because updates run in the background now, those updated are shown like that for a specific time period... I think it's two weeks. It gives you a reasonable amount of time to see what's been updated.

I often find I have to tap twice for a tap to register which wasn't the case in iOS 5. Anyone else or is it just me?
