Diwali Fireworks

I still don't know how religion is coming into play of your argument, yesterday was Diwali, what are you gonna do when its New Years and more people are using fireworks?

You've been arguing that we need to be respectful of people who wish to celebrate Diwali, have you not? And that those of us who are complaining are being intolerant and need to be more accommodating, not true?

Regardless, if people use fireworks on NY eve, I call the police too. We've been over this before countless times in this thread. You and your cronies insist on making this a racial/cultural issue while the rest of us take issue with the fireworks, not the religious festivities.

Sigh. OK, whoever called you a clown was correct I guess.

lol you mean the pseudoscience boy that claims to be a master of every single aspect of science ? or the pros that can see black powder through packaging and immediately tell a firework is illegal by just looking at it?

ok

as I said I didnt invent the technique to judge the distance of a storm. Its a survival method to estimate

We will still complain, still ask people nicely not to do it, and if they get otherwise call the cops.

Its just in your nature to do so, its your right I guess.
Why not try to enjoy it with your neighbors for a change, have a free brandy and coke, take your cadac camp chair, I know you have one.
Sit out there and look at the pretty colours in the sky?

I got a tranquilizer from the vet for my dog. And let him sleep in the room with us, if the ceiling fan is on then it seems like there's enough noise that he doesn't get too scared.

Unfortunately I have to drug my little four legged friend, or else he goes hysterical from fear.

Tomorrow will be the same process.

Also, thanks RiaX. I've taken medical advice from you in the past, but now I've seen what a nutter you are and how utterly misinformed you are on basic things such as the way sound travels, I'll definitely not take your advice seriously again. I might just die.

Since youve been on the forum for a few years, show us you thread about the complaints you layed on any of the new years passed.

...

Is that the name you've chosen? Because you're neither the hero people deserve, nor the one they need right now?

Quite fitting...

really are you going to whip out a calculator and measure angels and air density and temperature on the fly to estimate a distance ? dont be dumb

Complain about the effect of the fireworks on animals and the insensitivity of some people... i.e. exactly the same thing.

awww ... cute

so which cultural practice you going after next Mr Tolerant ?

halaal slaughter is barbaric (apparently you have to take your food out on a date before you kill it and eat it)
now pretty lights are making your animal go INSANE AND COMMIT SUICIDE because idiots like you cant be bother to house your animal properly

are you going to call for a ban on motorbikes, ferraris, loud sound systems and so forth as well?

It's amazing the amount of entitlement on display here. These guys refuse to be accommodating of anyone else in their religious festivities, yet everyone else must bend over backwards to accommodate them.

- loud crackers are banned
- the festivities are limited to one day
- there is a time limit you allowed to burst your fireworks

what more do you want ? You want a complete stop on the celebration completely to be satisfied and you claiming tolerance. What a joke

awww ... cute
I thought so.

Whatever reasonable annoyance rises my ire next - time will tell...

It is, and you did an equally ham-fisted job of defending that. No dates necessary though; just common decency. I know it's more than many can muster, but that doesn't mean we should settle for mediocrity.

Pretty lights I have no issue with, but I know misrepresentation is pretty much the last ineffectual arrow in your quiver. It's a little sad, honestly...

Who's talking about banning anything? I'm no fan of censorship; I just happen to be a fan of exposing ****wittery for what it is. Such banality will die its own death in time.

All i know, is my dog went ****crackers last night hat i ended up giving her a sedative. She couldnt see the lights, she was under the duvet trying to keep calm. Sounded like baghdad in durban last night. Not sure how loud bangs equate to festival of lights???

prejudiced ... your way of life is correct. What an ahole

yeah we know what a decent individual you are asking for people to stop their culture especially when it has f*** all to do with you. We also know how stupid you are when it comes to regulation and the fact that you cant understand the difference between practice and certification

Pretty lights I have no issue with

then you welcome to invent a firework thats silent .... aww wait you cant it requires energy to launch

Who's talking about banning anything? I'm no fan of censorship

so you have an issue. You have no solution then you claim you not a fan of banning. ok then whats your solution ?

you a real half wit

I want people to stop being poephols by firing the loudest, biggest fireworks they can find. The festival is supposed to be about chasing away the evil spirits with light, not trying to compete for who can be the most obnoxious.

It doesn't. Diwali is just a convenient excuse for lighting up massive rockets and other obnoxious fireworks.
