Fireworks are illegal in the suburbs for a good reason.

They're a fckn menace and disturb the peace.

If you like your crackers so damn much lock yourself in your bathroom and go wild.

What question, Haldex? You're the one who says we should take precautions for our pets. We told you that nothing we've tried works effectively, so now it's up to you to tell us what precautions we should take. You're the one who insists fireworks in residential areas are fine and that we're bad pet owners because you want to fire your fireworks, so you tell us what we're supposed to do when our dogs are terrified of your actions.

You call me a troll cause all my points are valid, I don't insist its fine but it's allowed. Its your pet not mine sedate it properly if over-the-counter drugs don't work.
What you can do if it troubles you and your pet so much is get it banned?
 
Still going strong I see :rolleyes:. I book my dogs into the SPCA kennels every year on Diwali and New Year's Eve. The fireworks are there every year and every year people complain, yet they're not interested in doing anything to safeguard their pets and just like everyone in SA would rather complain. Get off your asses and do something about it. The people at fault here are the illegal firework suppliers and that's who you should be going after!

So your recommendation is that everyone in your neighborhood should pay 100s of rands to have their animals sedated every year so that they can accommodate you, but you refuse to be accommodating of everyone with pets.

What an entitled brat. Big time logic failure.

How about instead of expecting thousands of people to book their dogs into kennels every year, everyone else just doesn't fire fireworks in residential areas? That sounds a lot more reasonable to me...

So, not only do you exonerate those actually committing the offence, you offload your pets to boot, separating them from the one familiar thing - you - during an otherwise potentially harrowing time?

That's rich. You can simply train a pet to be okay with loud noises. Yah right, troll.

Either way, what a waste of time arguing with thick-headed neanderthals. Next year they're just going to fire up their rockets all over again without any consideration for anyone else who have to share the living space with them, then they're going to come right back here and justify their inconsiderate behavior with lame justifications, cheap attacks, failed logic and shifting of responsibilities. Nothing will change until there's a blanket ban on fireworks in residential areas, and that day can't come soon enough.
