Actually if you know the multiple then you can simply multiply the second count by it to get the correct answer. No savant style mathematics required...

Ja ja, I agree with you. I hate fireworks but isn't it part of Hindu religion? I am sure the constitution grants some sort of rights in that regard?

I must add that I am neither religion or law savvy.

The constitution grants some rights in that regard, but the law doesn't let them detonate big fek off fireworks in a residential area. Period.

Maybe if you weren't so busy posting 56000 posts as if it were some kind of sport, you'd have the time to realise that some people (registered here for years) prefer to view and only comment when they feel the need to and not as a form of entertainment.

Awwww, look another one crawled out from under it's rock.
Careful guys, don't step on it.
I wanna keep this one.

Why would someone need a mass spectrometer in their head?

measure the constituents of the air and determine accurate concentrations and accurately define the medium the sound is traveling in

They do? diwali has been restricted to a single day. Its not illegal to use fireworks on diwali/guy fawkes/xmas or NYE

So stop acting like every single person goes to this specialised market funded by al qaeda and buy bombs just to piss you off

It is illegal to use the fireworks that we are all complaining about. FFS!

What the hell are you on about now?

Answer my question. Is that too much to ask?

this is your subjective opinion. what is on sale on the shelf of your general store is fit for residential use.

Where are they breaking the law ? its your ASSUMPTION that the fireworks being used are illegal

No it's not part of the religion. Any fireworks that are set off would need to conform with the Explosives Act.

The flip side of this argument is that those who have noisy dogs would need to be considerate towards their neighbours too, as excessive barking is also in violation of certain by-laws.

Why can't we all just live in peace?

No it is not, however much you like to think it is.

This is not a subjective opinion, it is a legal fact. Deal with it.

For Durban specifically, Nuisance fireworks (pretty much ANYTHING percussive in nature) are not allowed to be set off in a residential area.

it is part of the religion. The purpose is to light up a trail to guide the gods home (long story short)

because people love to bitch and moan unfortunately. A single night is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to much to ask for

I'm getting teh feeling that RiaX sells thunderflashes out the back door of his dad's chemist -and since he sells them they must be legal right?

ok PROVE the fireworks that were rattling your house where illegal ?

A 2 inch display shell will make a sound when it launches and when it detonates. Its not a cracker so it doesnt violate the law at all

No, you are allowed your single night, without complaint, so long as you do not use illegal fireworks that disturb the entire fscking neighbourhood.

They are classed as Nuisance fireworks, therefore according to the Metro Police in Durban they are banned in residential areas.. therefore illegal to be set off in residential areas.

again prove they illegal. You are ranting on and on about illegal fireworks. Where does one purchase these illegal fireworks ? and how much of black powder is required to make a firework illegal ?

nuisance fireworks is a term that refers to things like saturn missiles that go up in the sky making a screetching sound and have no display. It does not mean ALL fireworks.

how about someone post the regulations of the law instead of just the act.

Clearly when you had access to all that pure cocaine for your last thesis, you must have ingested too much of it.

Its not about the level of black powder ffs, its about the fact that it makes a noise that disturbs the ENTIRE neighbourhood. It is classed as a Nuisance Firework and is therefore banned in a residential area. I am not really expecting you to grasp this very simple concept since clearly all that pure cocaine has stunted your already limited mental capacity.

I argued being reasonable. Please answer the question now and stop avoiding it...

Im pretty sure legal fireworks are catherine wheel's and roman candles but not ones that make a hell of a racket like rockets etc.
