Diwali Fireworks

I argued being reasonable. Please answer the question now and stop avoiding it...

- so the hindu community has limited its celebration with fireworks to 1030pm
- the have accepted the ban on crackers and noise makers (things that make high pitched noises)
- limited their celebration to a single day
- Downsized the available displays allowed for purchase

what more do you want? if this is not being reasonable then what it ? ... its important to celebrate at home. The whole point from the religious perspective is to do it at home. So you want to heard them with complete disregard to their culture and beliefs into designated zones ? sounds nazi like to me

Abide by the law and stop detonating fireworks that involve noisy explosions. It's quite simple. Abide by the law and if you still object to the law or disagree with the interpretation, then have some consideration for others around you, and don't detonate noisy fireworks.

Is that too much to ask?

Here is the question in asked in case you have forgotten...

Please answer my question. Is asking for no loud bang crackers, which are considered illegal, too much to ask? Or if you disagree with the interpretation of the law, is being considerate by not detonating loud bang fireworks too much to ask?

This doesn't require long justifications. It is very easy to answer...

BTW, not a single one of those points has been universally abided by...

Im pretty sure legal fireworks are catherine wheel's and roman candles but not ones that make a hell of a racket like rockets etc.

rockets technically are illegal as they dont have a controllable flight. The rockets that make the screeching sound are banned I havent seen them for a while. Use to like those retarded moonrakers when i was little

Its not about the level of black powder ffs, its about the fact that it makes a noise that disturbs the ENTIRE neighbourhood.

One it is the level of black powder as that provide the energy source from which the sound will be generated.
Two you are allowed by law to use the fireworks on the designated days.
Three its your assumption it disturbs the entire neighborhood

It is classed as a Nuisance Firework and is therefore banned in a residential area.

displays arent classed as nuisance firework. There is clear distinction between rockets, displays, fountains, sparklers, display shells and nuisance fireworks. You are incorrect to say that all fireworks are nuisance fireworks because they generate a sound. It maybe a nuisance to you but the law does not recognise your personal distaste after all it caters a population not just you

Diwali and fireworks cant be held responsible for the actions of rogue individuals. Saying hindus dont universally abide by the firework restrictions is no different from calling all white people racist or all black people are criminals. Its the real world not everyone will abide by the law unfortunately and to those people they deserve punishment.

Hindus are not allowed to go mad on diwali they suppose to light their fireworks, lamps do their prayers etc others take it as an excuse to party and then you get non hindus getting into the fun which is great.

Im all for pointless fireworks being banned (those that dont generate any form of display like crackers) and those are already banned. You dont get silent fireworks thats impossible

No, don't try and get clever, because it doesn't work for you.

Nobody gives a fsck about the level of black powder, it is the noise.
You are allowed to use fireworks on designated days, nobody is actually disputing that, just the TYPE of firework being used.
No its not my assumption. There were 5 people outside this morons house from all over the neighbourhood, and the neighbourhood whatsapp group was going crazy.

I never said ALL fireworks are nuisance fireworks either, but then your lack of reading skills are well known in these parts so its understandable that you don't really get that concept.

Answer my question, RiaX. You've been avoiding it long enough now...

where does the sound come from?

just the TYPE of firework being used.

yes and a display shell (a perfectly LEGAL firework) will generate a sound. One when it launches straight up and the second sound when it explodes. Or are you claiming that every single hindu in your area only bought crackers and saturn missiles?

No its not my assumption. There were 5 people outside this morons house from all over the neighbourhood, and the neighbourhood whatsapp group was going crazy.

still your assumption they are illgal. Adding more assumptions does not make an assumption true. So what if your neighborhood whatsapp group was going wild. That doesnt prove they were illegal fireworks

Answer my question, RiaX. You've been avoiding it long enough now...

i've answered it many times. Im not going to give you a yes or no answer to a loaded question

Only you seem to care WHERE the sound comes from, the rest of us don't give a rats rear-end.

No, you are mistaken, if it makes a noise such that it "explodes".. its classed as a nuisance firework.

“Nuisance Fireworks” means a fireworks product that produces an effect involving a screech or noise, or is being altered or misused that has the effect of creating fear or disturbance to residents. These include fireworks such as air bombs, supersonic bang, sound shells, fountain whistle, screeches etc.

“Fireworks” - that is goods that intended to be of pyrotechnic effect that are classified low hazard fireworks such as firework showers, fountains, golden rain, lawn lights, pin wheels, sparkles and volcanoes etc.

Pretty self explanatory.

And, no its not my assumption, its verified by Metro Police.

ok I got work to do now. Have fun firework haters. When you get past your subjective nonsense of

"the fireworks they using were illegal!"
"really how you know they were illgal?"
"they were loud :("

Its not subjective, but only you seem to have this little hangup...

provide the source.

once again those are sound generating fireworks. AS YOU CAN SEE NONE OF THEM ARE DISPLAYS

lighting fireworks on diwali day to celebrate diwali is not classified as a misuse of fireworks. So sorry but the law is not on your side

EDIT:

better yet. Provide the regulations of the law where you took that definition from

i've answered it many times. Im not going to give you a yes or no answer to a loaded question

It's not a loaded question whatsoever. I'm asking whether it is too much to ask to be reasonable by not blasting explosive type fireworks, or to simplify it for you, noisy fireworks?

Your true colours are coming out by avoiding such a simple question...

****, you don't even grasp the meaning of the word 'or'...? Are you writing a thesis, or just slapping your hands on a keyboard?

Here is the source, which has been corroborated by the Metro Police spokesman multiple times this year in the newspapers.

http://www1.durban.gov.za/durban/government/policy/fireworks

The display is actually irrelevant, notice the "Produces an effect involving a screech or a noise"... therefore if your little firework makes a bang when it explodes, its a nuisance firework. Misuse is but one of the options, it does not invalidate the clause.

How convenient. Knowing that you'll be pressured for an answer you now have to suddenly go do imaginary work. What mybb thread are you supposedly working on now?

ive already said numerous times I agree with the ban of crackers.
