Today was a bad and confusing day for Internet for me. What's up ducks. I keep loosing the line/sync. All morning on Mweb it was OK then it failed, I thought my cap is gone. I moved to an Afrihost account but at the same time we had a huge thunderstorm on the EastRand and I could not connect and thus I feared the worst. Afrihost advised calling Telkom to do a port reset. They said there is a fault on the line and they logged a call. They also stated that there is a problem at the exchange that the techs are working on. Then suddenly after booting the modem I had Internet access so I canceled the logged "fault". Called Afrihost and they reset the account but stated there is many port errors. I could not finish one KZ3 online game without crashing out. Internet was very unstable and I got many DNS errors and page failures. When I checked my Mweb account usage I found there is still cap and thus reverted back to Mweb and I played three games before I crashed out again. Checked on PC no internet. Rebooted modem still no Internet. Go back to Afrihost account and I have Internet and thus checked my Mweb cap and it was still Ok. Go on MyBB and read the Dolby post on 610 GPU bracket. Want to respond the page failed Go to n4g.com and all is ok, Try google.com and page failed on DNS error, Tried www.hotsadeals.co.za and it failed. tried again n4g.com and it's fine even the sub linked pages???? Tried to get on MyBB again still no luck. Thus pi$$ed I called Afrihost and they say there is a lot of port errors therefore the disconnections. So I asked how does the port error distinguise between n4g.com and all the other sites and he stated that all he can do is try by changing my IP4 DNS settings to static. Changed it to static DNS addresses and all the sites are available and fast.
Anyone dare to educate me what up? What can I do next!
PS: Trying to post this it first failed for a few seconds and on second attempt went through. Uhrg!
PS3 failed to connect untill I also set static DNS.
I still have some page failure's but it's more consistent. Now to try and play games on PS3.
