do not use your cellphone while driving

WTF this thread still going? OP was drunk and reversed into dude behind him.

If you cant remember whether you indicated or not then the chances are pretty equal on whether you or the other guy is to blame.

I honestly think you need to accept that you both were probably in the wrong and let insurance take care of the rest.

Be glad you both walked away and let the ofiicial, objective outsiders deal with it. Once emotion gets involved it all becomes pointless.

I agree, I will accept what objective outsiders say, which is why I am seeing one tomorrow. I do not think there are any objective outsiders contributing to this thread though, not to the extent that it will assist me atleast.

If you really want people to stop trolling you, maybe it's best to not keep bringing it up like you want to start a new argument and just post things relevant to your accident

We are all pretty much objective, given that none of us know you personally.

You're just giving yourself a bad rep here by posting with an attitude.

Wot?! Are you saying that my interpretation does not seem valid?

Do I spot a trend here?

Seems it is roundabout that time of the year when some guy makes a post about his Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160i GSi car of the year 1991 and then everything just goes completely off the rails?

Does the Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160i GSi car of the year 1991 have an auxiliary tank? Or was he driving his E30 which does indeed have said auxiliary tank.

I used to use my cellphone when driving. But as of the last 6 months I have no cell phone as I have rid my life of that evil. Wife is the only one with a cellphone now :) You have no idea how liberating it feels not being tied down by a cellphone no more :)

I haven't lost or broken a phone in the last 6 months as a bonus :D

I met with an accident today.

My dash cam footage shows that I am driving for atleast five seconds infront of the guy who rear ended me.

He claims he didn't see me and that I cut infront of him without indicating (read that carefully).

Things could have been a lot worse as I was knocked hard from the back (I didn't hear an attempt to brake- no tyres screeching) and I knocked the standing vehicle infront of me.

Gathering from what he told me and the dash cam footage I can only conclude he was not looking on the road and was using his phone.

He drove into you, he should fix it. Simple as that.

That being said, how the fark does your dash cam show when and how long you drove in front of this guys if he rear ended you

saturnz being saturnz. Thanks for the entertainment once again, it doesn't quite live up to the Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160i GSi Car of the Year 1991 thread, but I'll still rate this an 8/10 - would read again if bored.

So... 2 guys (Man A and Man B) on the same stretch of road pissing each other off because B didn't give A a gap in the lane B was in an A thinks "I will show you because my COTY is superfast - much faster than your R30k oil dripping rust bucket". A little bit of road rage later and A pushes his way in front of B who still does not want to give A a gap in front of him because he thinks A is a complete douche bag because of the earlier exchange of rude signs. In all this excitement, after A pushed in front of B, A suddenly realise there is a stationery vehicle in front of him and slams on the carbon breaks of his COTY and manages to stop inches from the stationary vehicle in front of him. Unfortunately B is not so lucky. B does not have nearly enough time to react to the situation because of A pushing in and although he slammed on his brakes the moment he realised the mess that was created, the carton brakes on his oil dripping rust bucket could not bring him to a standstill in time and he rear ends A (and not in a nice way). A, merely inches from the stationary vehicle in front of him, slams into the stationery vehicle from the force of B slamming into A....

Funny, after reading through the entire thread this is exactly what I imagine happened.

Have we established if it was the E30 or one of his other priceless cars?
I might be able to fix him up with my old car, they gave me R30k for it.

I don't understand what the issue is. The guy said he "didn't see you", he rear-ended you, therefore it means he is probably at fault, and you have video footage to prove it. Doesn't matter what he was or wasn't doing when it happend. Take it to your insurance to sort it out, that's what they are paid for.

We haven't AFAIK, saturnz is being evasive. That means it's probably the Monza, and the world has now lost a historically significant vehicle.

Nine pages and no dashcam footage.

/leaves disappointed.

If saturnz cut in front of the guy, without indicating and then braked, he is at fault... but he reckons his front facing dash cam clears him of this. Lets hear what his lawyer buddy has to say.
