Propaganda station for certain Political party. No value. Corrupt through and through.

There's so much value from SABC that it should actually close down.

Don't make use of their TV channels
Don't make use of their Radio stations
Don't attend their FAIL concerts

...still have to pay a damn TV license though :(

I do not own a tv, purely because I refuse to pay for a rediculous thing such as a tv licence. Who watches that crap SABC anyway? I haven't for decades. Radio stations? Pah! A load of rubbish. I'll stick to my mp3's bought through Amazon or iTunes (because South Africa is still too useless to sell their own like Look & Listen used to...) and get my news online. I'm happy to pay for my internet.

I have 4 "TV's" in my house. Used for media streaming and DSTV. But I do not pay my TV license and laugh at their blocked sms threats.

So you see, you CAN have it both ways,

I don't know how not paying affects your credit rating so R250 (or whatever it is these days) pa is hardly worth the risk.

That said, my TV is old and I'll probably end up replacing it with a large monitor or something, get the affidavit and tell SABC to fsck off.

The best way is to keep off their blotter in the first place. I already learnt in 1994 how to do this.

There is strong movement against the SABC - particularly when it comes to paying TV licences.

Ignoring corruption and mismanagement allegations against executives like Hlaudi Motsoeneng, do you still get any value from the SABC? Whether it is listening to one of its radio stations or watching a show on one of its channels.

Don't have a TV - haven't for years. When my old TV died I didn't see any reason to replace it - but kept the license in case I changed my mind. I finally asked SABC about a year ago to cancel the license. Cancellation letter arrived last week. Took only a year which I think is actually quite good for the SABC!

Currently streaming live cricket on my laptop courtesy of Cell C Giga package. The SABC couldn't give me that and DSTV is not in my budget.

the SABC radio stations are not bad. They are still quite entertaining. their TV not so much hey. TV licenses must just fall. they have to find other means to generate revenue.

Nope.

Don't listen to the radio and don't receive any TV signals at home, terrestrial or otherwise.

At the most, I may listen to cricket commentary on Radio 2000 a SABC radio station. Apart from that, I cannot recall the last time I watched a TV show on SABC or listened to any of their other radio stations.

Don't even listen to the Radio news anymore...

The fact that they sent a letter instead of an email, sums them up tbh. What is this, 1985?
