Do you have job satisfation

I'm a black man working at a store that sells fried chicken.

Man you need to get your act together.

Me, I wouldn't call my job a dream job but they've shown a lot of respect towards me, and I've been handed a major project - probably the most daunting one in my department - and if I can get it right in the next year, it will set me in a very strong place in my career. So I'm quite satisfied now, certainly far more than I have been in any previous job.

I used to be happy at first...the hate for my job started during the PA reviews where employees are led to believe that they can negotiate their ratings with their managers, but I found out that those ratings are per-determined and that there is nothing that a lowly employee such as myself can do but to just swallow it...

Then the manipulation that my manager uses to overpower you in those reviews by using scriptures in the bible...I mean, who am i to argue against the word of the Lord and my rating...

And now as a programmer, my job basically consists of doing VLookups in excel spreadsheets. Can you believe it?

It kills me, and I only use the damn voodoo thing when no other way is possible...I feel for you...

I do currently.

What I do is perhaps not exactly what I want to do in the long term, but there is so much new information available to me, I'm learning so much, doing so many different things and growing as a person in a way that I haven't before. I also have a future in this company which is great.

Also the company sees me as a valuable asset and has rewarded me as such, so knowing that they trust me and appreciate my hard work is also a contributor to my overall satisfaction.

Lets just say I don't mind waking up in the morning and going to work.

Yes love my job,

I don't have a boss over my shoulder
I am learning new things everyday
I get to travel around the country
I have been fortunate to travel to some awesome places around the world
and the products I sell in the industry I sell is fascinating and changing all the time
