Do you hog bandwidth?

It isnt about a discount. If the network is being maxed out because of a few people, then they should be stopped/limited first.

If pick n pay has a special on coke can you buy a 100 bottles, no, you can only have 4-6 because everyone wants a piece of the pie

Not so I agree with Gary, ISP's seem to be selling something they cannot provide. We don't have one single line providing bandwidth anymore so capacity shouldn't be a problem, they should rather upgrade their capacity to accommodate everyone they sell their product to.

its easy to say they should accommodate everyone, upgrade their capacity but it isnt that easy.

BUT, you miss my point, I agree a network should not lie and do nothing, but if you have alreafy downloaded 300gigs and I have only done 10 and the network is at 100%, thus someone must be throttled, so why must I be throttled an equal % as you, you should be harder throttled to than me.

It depends on which product you are talking about. If it is a limited shared resource account then yes... by all means limit some people. But you better make clear how that works before you sell the product. If it is an uncapped product though, then the ISP is under an obligation to keep providing since they sold you an "unlimited" resource.

moaning moaning moaning... Garyvdh is right... don't sell something if you don't want us to use it...

Hi my name is LordNokon... I am a bandwidth hog... I did 3.8Tb last month... WTF you going to do about it....

Wait - the guy who pays more has to suffer more? Commie thinking right there...

LOL LOL, hey we dont have uncapped accounts to check our bank balance or read how corrupt the government is hee hee

Bravo!

hmmm, the answer is no and yes.

No because I don't think I am currently utilising my uncapped line to it's fullest potential. I pretty much only use around 10 gb a day spaced out over the day.

BUT... if I wanted to utilise it to the maximum I would have no problem with doing so... since I paid for it... I have no problem with using what I have paid for.

If that makes me a bandwidth hog... then so be it. Don't sell me the product if you don't want me to use it.

And I really don't give a crap about other users. I give a crap about my online experience for which I am paying a premium price. Other users are not my problem... they are the ISPs problem. Don't make your problem my problem. If you can't handle that many users then upgrade your network or serve on a first come first served basis.

The term "bandwidth hog" is pejorative.... some people by nature or by need use more than others. It is a fact of life. As long as they pay for it.

I could not have said it any better. Premium price... Premium service. That's my motto. Please everybody. Never forget it.

Do you hog bandwidth? Yes.

same here. i will use the service i paid for to it's fullest and if the isp cannot provide what i paid for it's not my problem.

seems like all the isp over sell whatever capacity they have hoping most people will not be using what they actually bought, almost like the airlines that overbook a flight and hope some people miss/don't show up.
