Do you live alone?

Married, divorced & had both live-in & live out relationships in between.

Prefer living alone nowadays, will be a huge adjustment if ever I had to co-live again.

having someone else in the house is awesome as long as you can agree to a set of standards about things like how often the dishes get done, where wet towels belong, and what happens when someone's (not secret enough) secret biltong stash gets raided.

it's also awesome when chores (like cooking, cleaning, washing) are spread out amongst all in the house. i cook every second night, but i eat a cooked meal every night ;)

I've lived alone for exactly a year now, and it's awesome. The maid comes three times a week, and either go somewhere on weekends or have visitors over. The time I do spend alone I enjoy thoroughly. I think it also depends on your job type though, I spend all day around people and need time away.

when you start living with someone else, after having lived alone for along time, remember to wear clothes around the house.

My husband and I lived alone for about 2 years. We use to walk around naked (Who cared?) especially in those hot summer time.
Then when we moved into a bigger house, his cousin came to share the house with us, it was hectic at first... But hey! We had to re-adjust quickly... And now, it's children! No more funny time!
But I love my kids more than anything!

Lived alone for most of my adult life. Very difficult making an adjustment when I got married. Had to adjust again when we had kids.

Every now and the my wife takes the kids to visit the in-laws. I have the best break ever - No Disney channel, no noise, no verbal attacks about chores...nada.

Then after a day, I miss it all.

Live with a brother, never lived alone.

I do feel it would be good to live alone for a while and it's something I've given quite a bit of thought actually.
I'm quite happy in solitude, but to try "living alone" would mean renting a small place in town, lugging all my stuff over there, losing access to a ton of creature comforts and appliances and having to apply for a phone line & DSL again...

The current setup is great as we're both very similar in our wants and tastes, so we can comfortably share 4mb uncapped DSL, projector room for watching stuff, PC room for both our rigs which is ideal for having company / gaming together, take turns sorting food, packing the dishwasher, can do laundry together, share the downloaded stuff (series), etc.

Pretty efficient system which halves the work and reduces the "human need" for company / relationships.

Lived alone as a bachelor for a while. Didn’t enjoy it much spent as little time at home as possible.

I lived alone from 18 - 26 when I got married although some GFs did try their luck by staying longer than I liked. Got divorced but haven't really lived alone since then as my son lives with me. Now my living arrangements are complex and depend on where I am. In the Netherlands, Georgia and Thailand it's just my son and me. In the US I have an old business partner living in the main farmhouse with us. In SA I'm going to invite my mom to come and stay as I have the room and my son is tired of traveling.

Living alone requires a certain amount of maturity and discipline in order to offer the greatest benefits.

I can keep my house meticulously clean, and it generally stays that way unless i have people over.

Having a comforting, clean, functional living environment can open up many possibilities for enhanced productivity, energy, personal development and overall happiness.

It can also be a teacher. Many people are afraid to be alone, but if you approach it correctly, it can greatly enhance the types of people and energy you invite into your life.

So i guess I'd say: Yes, I've lived alone for many years on and off, to the point which i prefer it. My parents are with me at the moment for a few months, which has its own frictions, and it is quite a test for me to once again relinquish a lot of the control which i had over my environment.

And yes, it changed me forever and allowed me incredible freedoms and personal growth opportunities.

Had a single room at res for 2 years. Moved to a single room flat after that. Got married, divorced and moved out. Live in a squatter camp with another guy.
