Do you own a gun?

Yep - CZ-75 B and Vector SP1

This man unfortunately had completely the wrong body posture considering he was faced with only one perp. Hands up, put the keys on the bonnet or floor and try get your vehicle between you and the 1 guy you are facing. Easy to say in hindsight but that is why training and situational awareness is so bloody important!

Strongs to him and I really hope he recovers ASAP
 
I don't own a gun.

I'm not opposed to the idea of owning one but when weighing up the responsibility and risk vs need I have for one, I still think that its not worth having (in my case).

I think many people should carry/own a gun for the worth they do and perhaps the situation the live in.
I think practising gun safety and doing the correct training is pivotal though - without this you easily make yourself more vulnerable and in some cases a criminal.

I think in many cases (in the context of home security) people make two failed assumptions :
1: That they will see an intruder before the intruder sees them
2: They will have access to their weapon before an armed person confronts them with with a weapon.

Given the above unless you are using a gun for sport or have a very well planned out security setup I don't believe owning a gun at home is the best idea.

Ideally - if you own a gun for personal protection - it shouldn't be locked in the safe at the top of the cupboard.
 
Yes, Glock 23 (same size as 19 but in .40)

Been carrying everyday for years - only goes in the safe if we go somewhere I cant take it.
(no-one except my kids/girlfriend and a few very close friends know I carry - never been made as I carry appendix most of the time)

Have done basic/advanced courses + shoot once a month at range (reload own ammo to keep it affordable) to keep muscle memory and proficiency up.

Only a blowback co2 pistol which is fun.

Considered a handgun. But figured it's only any good if you always carry it. And I can't carry at work so it's useless.
