Do you own a gun?

Owned a couple, shot with a variety ... .22, 7.65, 9mm Short, 9mm, 38 special, 357, 12 gauge, R1, R5, AK, 303, 308.
Very proficient and very accurate.
Was actually considering getting one again now that I spend a lot of time on the bike, but the license process and the licence renewal process keeps putting me off.

I'll never get my wife a gun. She'll end up shooting me with it instead because I have the knack of pissing her off at least once a day. Right now, I can still deal with "the look", I won't be able to deal with a 9mm hollow-point bullet

Little bit (lot actually) of everything....more than anyone would like to know about. Yes, I carry 24/7.
No, I don't advocate for everyone to own one. Yes I practice regularly. Yes, I am proficient. Yes, I have "helped" out the public a few times.
No..he should have complied and sought cover.
 
Plan to start the process of licensing this year, if I don't procrastinate again like last year ...

Do you want us to drag a list out of you? What's in your safe/holster?
 
Thought of getting a shotgun but I doubt it would be of any use to me locked in a safe when I need it. Carrying a handgun around would restrict my movement too much. Maybe I will change my mind again in future.

How would it affect your movement? As in you cant go into certain buildings or in terms of the gun being attached to you? You could look at a compact or semi-compact.

Both but mostly the limitation on where I can go.

Some businesses, stores, and workplaces do not allow firearms on premises. For shops I don't think it would be an issue to pop in and out to make a purchase, but certain workplaces can't allow it due to their location. I worked at an airport for many years and will possibly (hopefully) work there again. I visited government buildings as part of my work as well. All those places are not tolerant of carrying a gun.

In terms of physical restriction, I ride a motorcycle so a waist holster would be uncomfortable. I suppose I could make a plan (chest harness maybe) so that is a lesser worry than the above.

I am familiar with guns (revolvers, pistols, rifles) but would never allow one into my house; unless, maybe, it was a rifle with the bolt removed. Kids are too goddamn curious, and curiosity leads to death.

I've been invited to join another forum member for a few beers, while he was carrying a gun. JESUS ****ING CHRIST, no, I don't drive when I am drunk, should I trust you with your gun when you are drunk???

What is the issue with someone carrying and drinking a couple of beers?

Sw revolver
Pump action shotgun (for those close encounters)
308 hunting rifle

Occasionally do practical sport shooting at the club.

I don't carry for self defence (no s10 license). Home defense excluded here.

Wife has s10 license for her little ruger gun.

Everything. Every. Thing.

Are you happy to have drunk people with guns near you? Do you trust that a random drunk stranger has sufficient sense not to pull his gun out when drunk? Do you trust that a random drunk stranger is going to follow basic training when drunk? Do you really trust a man who carries a gun to a bar?
