Yes, and only use the Smart functionality - DSTV Now, Netflix and YouTube.

do you prefer the Apple tv box over the normal android ones ?

I have only ever used a Raspberry Pi to access Kodi besides the Google Chromecast so I can't really compare Apple TV to an Android based TV box. I love the Apple 4K TV that we have, it does everything we want in terms of accessing Netflix, DSTv, Showmax, Redbull TV, music, photo's, streaming from our phones, etc.

I answered no... I own a DUMB TV... Assisted by an android TV box - works like a charm...

2 Samsung TV's.
2 LG TV's.
All of them have smart tv functionality, though the one Samsung TV's wifi doesn't work anymore.
Noticed this with my Samsung too. Then the board gave up, costs about R2500 to fix.

Yip.
LG 65SJ800.
I use the NV Shield's functionality rather.

Ouch. I just got my sister a android box for about R600 when that TV's wifi broke. Its pretty slow, but at least she can watch Netflix through that so she is happy enough.

Yes, LG 65 inch but don't even know where the remote is, Nvidia shield TV does everything for me.

Tried setting up a hisense "smart" tv
Just get a bloody mi box

Yup.

2018 Samsung N7100 in the lounge
2019 N5300 for the bedroom (recently replaced a 2013 smart TV because it was sluggish - Netflix, Youtube, Plex and Showmax still worked)
Old 32" FHD in another bedroom with a firestick attached to it.

I find it much simpler to just use the TV remote and built-in apps than it is using the firestick, Xbox or android box I had attached before.

yes i own 2 smart tv's and both are stupid
stuck on Android 4.4.4

Use the youtube and netflix apps on the TV as I can have that on smooth motion and then xbox for gaming. The TV keeps different settings for its own apps, so I don't have to turn off motion smoothing when I game

Use it for SA Netflix, Youtube, and Showmax. Use the Apple TV for US Netflix and Hulu.

On my second Samsung smart TV and I have not used any of their smart functionality.
