Personally I just could not be bothered fussing about with my phone to make it work properly. It was fine for the first couple of years of owning Androids. Loading custom ROMs, the latest nightly etc. As I said, I loaded and tweaked Franco’s kernel on my Nexus 5 and it was fun to do at the time and the results were great.

But I’ve had enough of that now. I became obsessed and later annoyed with finding out why my battery was losing a couple of percent when it shouldn’t.

It was tiring. And now with an iPhone, I just use the phone and play words with friends or read the forums. Simple.

But I don’t know why you think you are big and clever because you enjoy doing stuff that others don’t or can’t be arsed doing anymore. Great, enjoy your Android, I’ll continue to be happy with my choice l,but why you think it makes you have a brain is anyone’s guess. I’ve probably forgotten more than you’ve ever known about Android.

The Nexus 5 was a cheap flagship that made compromises with the battery, camera and screen to get it down to the price it sold at. Not sure how you can compare it to a flagship Apple device?

The comments were that pure Android was the best OS. My point was that I had to mess with it, install a custom kernel and then tweak that kernel to get it to perform better. Hardly a shining endorsement of what is claimed to be the best OS.

In fact, the size of the modding and custom ROM community would point to the fact that it is indeed not the best OS hands down, but rather the best OS if you want to customise and mess around with your phone. I wouldn't disagree with that, but it's not for me any more. If like me you want to use your phone out of the box and not mess about with it, then it's iOS.

So horses for courses really and each to their own, but for some reason some Android users think they are somehow making the clever choice and iPhone users are stupid. As evidenced on this thread.

Nope. Use it, it goes down. Don’t use it, it doesn’t.

I rarely end the day with less than 30% left.

Pretty sure he means from moving phone to phone. I put in my iCloud details and everything I had on my previous iOS device shows up.
No apps, no other logins, no playstore. Business as usual.

Yeah except it doesn't remember EVERYTHING. You lose time entering passwords and usernames for different appps and Access Points and what have you.

Not all data is pulled across etc.

iPhone you don't even connect to WiFi manually.

The SE isn't that expensive, but using my comparison, what iPhone costs US$2,000?

The iPhone 7 or 8 is in the same ballpark as a number of Android devices.

The days of "cheap Android/expensive iPhone" are long gone now...

If yo want to compare like that then the iphone black diamond cost $15 million. Lets stick to mainstream not some stupid Porsche design indulgence.

Huawei sell the phone I linked, the phone is available to buy in phone shops in a number of countries...

That's the ONLY reason one buys it, no other reason to buy an apple device.

Unless your tired of customisation, and tired of fiddling around with ROMS
Or you have given up trying to get anything better out of what you have, and would rather upgrade when Tim Cook tells you to.
