I read this all the time...yet found Nova Launcher to make the Android experience even worse.

Microsoft Launcher is the only thing worth bothering with...if you can't have an iPhone.
You can customize everything not sure what else you need?

Roux does have a point about EMUI, it's been shown to be a significant performance hit on phones that are afflicted with its presence.

For example the Honor 9 Lite

Probably has to do with Huawei using the f2fs filesystem. Strange that reviewer doesn't mention it.

No need to be ashamed if you prefer iphone. We all get old at some stage and prefer to walk around in slippers and a gown. It just works for you at that stage. Same with iphones, it just works for you as a device to make calls on. Comfy and familiar.

this is my point exactly, lisa Simpson being the older sister of Bart, wanting something familiar to use,
so she enjoys an Apple device, nothing wrong if you enjoy your prune juice and playing bowls.

those of us still young enough, and want more options prefer android, pure android as roux said,
my Wileyfox with custom Roms lets one do that, agree touchwiz is cr@p, EUMI is even worse,
hate being saddled with bloatware, and apple is full of it.

I tried Apple, like I said, built for old people that rich enough to afford its cr@p.

Roux, what phone you have?, sure you could root/Rom your phone and enjoy it more,
not saying its easy, but life's much nicer once your rooted... at least you only need to do it once.

That sums up your attitude, doesn't it?

Owns one of the cheapest phones on the market, admits he he isn't rich enough to afford an iPhone.

I have a Nokia 5 (stock) before that for a short while a Nokia 2 and before that for more than 2 years a Moto G3 (stock). Soon as the post office delivers my Nokia 7 I'll be keeping that one stock too.

Either I must be very old, or very rich, or both. Two people, 4x iPhone, 1x iPad, 1x Apple watch, 1x AppleTV, 1x Mac in a Virtual Box (shouldn't have bought the Windows laptop, but then hindsight is 20/20 vision)
Just happy to have tech that just works.

/me looks for Zimmer frame

The more you speak, the more convinced I get on how dumb you are.

good choices, would love to buy a nokia 1 TBH, as its got a removable battery at the very least.

Because it is the best phones every (Nokia) running the best OS ever (clean Android) - what more could you want?

On my clean Android on my Nexus 5, I had to use a custom kernel to make the battery last a bit longer and not lose a couple of percent every hour when it was on standby.

Hardly the best OS ever.

agreed, and removable battery that is increasingly rare, is quite important.
as that is the first thing to die, and being able to swap it out quickly is a g0dsend.

depends what was the CPU set to, install kernel auditor and check what setting you can use,
usually interactive works best for me.

You see, this is the point for me and no doubt many others. You clearly don’t mind installing additional apps and tweaking your phone, but it doesn’t apply to everyone.

Personally I just could not be bothered fussing about with my phone to make it work properly. It was fine for the first couple of years of owning Androids. Loading custom ROMs, the latest nightly etc. As I said, I loaded and tweaked Franco’s kernel on my Nexus 5 and it was fun to do at the time and the results were great.

But I’ve had enough of that now. I became obsessed and later annoyed with finding out why my battery was losing a couple of percent when it shouldn’t.

It was tiring. And now with an iPhone, I just use the phone and play words with friends or read the forums. Simple.

But I don’t know why you think you are big and clever because you enjoy doing stuff that others don’t or can’t be arsed doing anymore. Great, enjoy your Android, I’ll continue to be happy with my choice l,but why you think it makes you have a brain is anyone’s guess. I’ve probably forgotten more than you’ve ever known about Android.

Got home with new iPhone and put it next to the old one and it took all of 2 minutes before I was carrying on as usual.

Show me how well that goes on Android...especially if you were to change brands in between.

LOL @ last line.

If I thought you cared about it, I would have repped your post ;)
