Haven't received one in three years.

I tried to pay one last year at ABSA and the post office. The fine is just not in the system (it was issued on the side of the road).

Yes. If I receive a summons.
That's the only time I pay them, got 2 summons delivered in recent years :(

I'd go pay that ASAP, there may be a warrant out for your arrest already, spot fines where a police officer hands you the ticket or leaves it on your windshield serves as a summons, you either pay the fine of appear in court failing which a warrant for your arrest is normally issued.

You can always just wait till the next road block and see how it goes :D :(

Really battling to recall my last speed fine encounter, think it was in Germiston in the '80s and the cops let me off with a warning when I admitted I wasn't paying attention to my speed.

If I got a speeding fine tomorrow I'd pay it because once again I wouldn't be paying attention.

I've tried to pay it like 5 times in a year, never appeared in he system.

And I've been through two roadblocks where they check the fines since and it didn't show up either (it was a 10kmh speed excess so I'm not too scared of the result at court).

It was in 2014 so I doubt much will happen.

Yes - If the fine was for a valid offence, I do pay it.

I rarely agree with our good ol' gov and I know they are pissing everything out, but I refuse to stoop to their level by trying every hoop possible not to pay for something I know I am guilty of. While they don't, I have morals and self respect.

Yeah.
It happens so rarely I figure it's less hassle to pay it than deal with it 6 months down the line.

Once I've received the summons I go to the nearest cop shop and pay, until then, not a chance.

Only if I receive the summons, hand delivered and to me personally.

This.

Once we were all in the pool and I saw this dude with a clipboard, looking over the gate and waving me over. I waved back and kept on swimming. He came back 6 months later and I was unfortunately getting out of my car in front of my garage. He said he was glad to catch me outside the pool. I just laughed and signed the summons...

If I receive a summons...otherwise, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Yes I pay mine because the boss deducts it off my salary after I have signed a loan agreement. What would I do without a company car:crylaugh:

What hassle 6 months down the line?
I don't know, just silly reasoning :).
If the law stipulates that I pay a fine if I've broken a law I'd rather just pay it than wait and find out.
I don't really have an issue paying a fine for a law I've broken.
