Desktop is where I spend most of my time. Laptop at home is for when I feel like working /gaming in the house (desktop in home office). Laptop at the office.

desktop at home
desktop at work + laptop for when need to travel. Mainly use the desktop because it has 3 screens.

For all those who have 3 displays - how big are your monitors? I have 2; but it already spans the length of my desk.

2x23"
1x32"

Serious question - what on earth do you use 2 or 3 screens for?

Edit - I get the multiple screens at or for work. But for home use?

Always had 3. Recently upgraded them to 2 x 27" Dell 1080p (left and right). Center screen is a 27" Dell 1440p. Soooooooo sexy!

I used to have two screens at home, was useful when I was studying but was overkill. Simply can't do without two or more at work. Slows me down tremendously. 3 seems to be the sweet spot.

No, but not by choice.

Home > Laptop. But constrained by space/practicality. Would get a desktop if I could.

Work > Laptop. High end ultrabook + screens so thats fine.

Same. Had a 2nd one (well TV actually) for a while at home & just didn't use it. At work I practically die without a 2nd screen though - once your thinking shifts toward it it becomes natural.

I have a Hackintosh set up at home, it's mostly for development work. My laptop I use at the office and then a cellphone.

We have 4 desktops around the house (2 in my flat, 2 in the house)- 5 if you count my media server (Dell Poweredge T20). Used for work, gaming and media centre duties.

Work at work is done on a notebook though.
