Desktop and Home and Work - When I want to be seriously productive.

Laptop for browsing and light work.

Desktop for me - mainly for CAD, web design, coding; I cannot work without my two monitors.

I re-purposed my aging gaming rig as a Plex media server a while back; my work desktop is now just for work email and I only access it by RDP from my laptop: it still has developer tools on it in case of dire emergencies.

My main machine is a Gigabyte P35x v3 laptop with 16GB, GTX 980M, 2x128GB mSATA SSD (RAID), 1x1TB SSD, 1x1TB HDD which I use for gaming and work. At work I hook up to a 23" Samsung LCD & a 19" LG LCD to give me 3 screens.

I could no longer justify the expense of upgrading my gaming rig and a high-end developer's laptop.

Yes, Less likely to stolen. Hardier and cheaper, easier to maintain.

Do you still use a desktop PC at home or at work? If so, what do you use it for?

Yes, Less likely to stolen. Hardier and cheaper, easier to maintain.

pc master race, screw all the laptop and raspberries. why waste money buying a new laptop every 3 years when i can buy used parts and upgrade my pc :P, started of my desktop with a i5 4 gig ram, 1tb hdd, and a 560gtx, now over the last 4 years got 16gigs ram, and 770gtx(cost me 2500 6 months ago, got lucky) the same 1tb plus 300gig ssd. still need to get proper monitor speakers, thats what im looking for next.

Need to have a look at that master race keyboard of yours. Shift key and full stop key seems to be broken. Time for another upgrade perhaps?

Well yes use both desktop and laptop at work. laptop for gaming at work as we are not allowed to make any changes on work Pc's lol

Yes, Desktops for work and home, playing games, watch movies, programming, development, etc. We own tablets, laptops, smartphones but the fact of the matter is, desktops work easier with proper keybords and mouses, and try programming on a tablet or smartphone is far from easy.

Yes, upgraded it recently. I use it for everything: web designs, emails, internet browsing etc.

It also has a TV/Radio card, so doubles up as a TV and FM radio. It's also my sound system.

And, yes, I am "old skool"! ;)
