I still use a desktop pc and here's why.

I have only sold one of my older machines once and have regretted it sorely.
While the boom of mini and micro computing bring adequate performance for a smaller power usage and smaller hit to the budget, I have found, that re-purposing older machines can be quite useful.

My older machines are used in the following regard:
Source control, media management, software development

So my hardware footprint speaks to:
2 actively used desktops
2 inactive desktops which are being rebuilt for another purpose
1 laptop for mobility
1 tablet for extra mobility

Yes, my wife uses one for her Outlook emails, Facebook, general document writing etc.
Work laptop provided by employer.

Internet and general email 32" TV as monitor .

It is convenient because the box is tucked away and just mouse, KB and TV out .

I have a laptop and never use it same with the 10" tablet .

I am using desktop PC at work and home to run my Forex trading platform. I have a laptop but I prefer a desktop PC because of its reliability.

Desktop at work and home. Easier and more scalable to upgrade. Laptops just get stolen. I do have a laptop as well but it is locked away and only used for meetings, demos and training.

Oh yes. For just about everything. Google, gaming, media, work, movies, Youtube, surfing the net, downloading, banking, e-mails, appointments, video editing etc. etc. etc. I have a watercooled monster with a fantastic 24" monitor and 5.1 sound. I do own a so called gaming laptop..meh.. mediocre. Only use it when on the road touring the country.

PC! One for me, One for my wife and one mini PC connected to my T.V for media. Just so much easier to upgrade and maintain.

use PC?

I prefer PC over all else. if it breaks its easy enough to repair and upgrade. the rest of tech seems like a missed opportunity because it addresses a want more than it does a need. keeping up with the Joneses mentality. technology that can't reach the masses is nothing but a missed opportunity. until tech can improve the lives of all humanity it remains ornamental to most. I've seen PC attempt to bridge this gap and suceed. still ways to go

No. I have 2 laptops & 1 smartphone, with all linked to a NAS with cloud storage, which can be accessed from anywhere, at anytime.

Yes. I use a laptop for working at clients and desktop when working at home. I keep the two in sync with dropbox for standard files and git for code. I also use the desktop for gaming.

Nope. Have had a MacBook for 7 years and never looked back.

Yes for work and home. The PC will still be here for a while.

1 desktop as main "production" machine, 1 desktop for testing Linux distros, Both with fantastic mechanical keyboards since I can't imagine how people would type on a fokn tablet.
1 netbook (mine) + 1 laptop (wifey's) for travel.
All machines 100% Linux powered.
0 tablets, 0 smartphones.
