The labour laws made us move away from ALL help of this kind.
We do it all ourselves, the lot. But then, most of us learnt how to because we were all subjected to subscription.

Starts in the mornings with making the bed, cleaning the shower/bath and just becomes an in-built habit.
The less mess you make, the less tidying up is required.
 
We have a cleaning lady 5 days a week.
I'll still pay her even if i have to pay double her salary. Don't think I'll be married long if i have to clean with my wife.

Well I am pretty damn ugly but the creams were not mine. Here's how that went down, she's just dusting all over, sees some creams on a shelf, looks at the bottle (she was close to illiterate), takes a scoop out and puts her hand inside her skirt at the back and rubs it on her ass cheeks and just continues as normal.

We only have a gardener once a week. He is a really good guy and I will try and support him for as long as I possibly can.

We had a domestic/helper but she decided to help herself with some cash from my wallet. She's been gone 4 years now and we are managing just fine. I just dont have the time to iron all my shirts, so I take those to the laundromat.
 
I used to have a maid & a gardener, but I was without work for a few months so I let them go, now I pay an ex of mine's cousin who needs the income to deep clean for me on occasion, but mostly I just cope on my own.

Its much easier working from home 'cos I'm around the house all day anyway.
 
We use a service as my wife barters with other businesses. We noticed this trend pick up a lot since the start of lockdown.

The garden service that maintains our communal park also charges me a token amount to do my garden just to keep his guys busy in between other houses. His team did in 1 hour what my previous gardener did in two days. The guys are just too happy to work because that is such a cut-throat industry.


"Pivot" was the business word of 2020 and we have seen so many service companies expand their offerings just to keep staff employed.

Is she hot.... Did anything happen, like sexually?
 
Do we tidy up after ourselves? Yes.

Do we have someone come in and clean the house? Also yes.

We put our clothes in the clothes bin. We wash our clothes. We make our own beds. We pack things away. We wash up after cooking. No chance in hell will I vacuum, mop the floor and stand and iron on a Saturday after working the whole week. Weekends are for rest and relaxation.
 
I've cleaned up after myself since I moved out 20 years ago, money that would have been spent has been put away every month.

I would be really disappointed if someone calling themselves kantsnyer had a gardener
 
We do have a lady that comes for half a day once a week to clean up (vacuum, mopping the floors, etc). However I do the washing, dishes, fireplace and all other normal household tasks. Trying to get the kid to take over some of that now that she is home all day.
 
We have a housekeeper three times a week, and a gardener once a week.

I just now heard about the changes from this post and I thought "Oh no! If it's to high a price we will have to cut days" but seems like we have been paying the people that help us much more that the minimum, and I think we treat them great.

So this won't effect us at all.

Side Note: I am all for pushing to get people paid better, so that they can build a better life for themselves but if laws will make it too expensive and/or difficult to manage, thousands of people will be loosing stable income a month.

we have a housekeeper that usually came once a week. We've told her not to bother to come since the original lockdown in March last year. We are still paying her though.
 
Nope, I got sick and tired of my stuff getting broken or stolen.
 
Sorry when they started with their BEE laws we already cancelled all those services.. And I found we as a family could handle everything by ourselves and we save a lot of money. Then fortunately when Covid come and our income was severely cut we were used to getting by with less. We also found less stuff disappearing and save more on electricity water etc.
