WhatsApp voice notes - do you love em or hate em?

Other - They're ok.

Don't use them often but sometimes you need to send an urgent message and can't type. Don't mind the occasional voice note but when people send 20 in a row, that drives me nuts

Wish there's was a transcribe feature so voice notes are searchable.

They're great until you get one of those, "Hello julle, ek staan nou hier by die "plek" en ek will net vir julle se dat....... (dit lyk asof hulle drank weer gaan ban)" or something like that. - Proceeds to fearmonger some nonsense or other. Received a TON of that during this pandemic.

Also, I keep my voice notes on 1.5X speed. Ain't nobody got time for that.

People tend to uhm and err more than normal to make it an elegant way of communicating.

I ignore them until the person types the message. I am normally multitasking in meetings and training and can’t play voice notes.

Yeah, don't mind them. They're especially entertaining when they forwarded voice notes spreading the latest fake news and/or rumour.

I find them useful when trying to convey detailed instructions to a recipient who might find written instructions difficult to follow..

I mostly use WhatsApp web so just find it easier to type. When I'm away from my laptop, I would receive voicenotes and reply with text.

I'll only send a VN when I'm really drunk, but I generally don't bother with my phone then.

My issue is listening to voice notes - often i am in a public place or work or with other people, and how are you supposed to listen to this then? Ridiculous to have to hold your phone up to your ear
