Doctors face harsh rule on return to SA

Those countries have an oversupply of doctors.
I remember when the Cubans came in 1997, there was a Cuban doctor that lived next door. He told me that before coming to South Africa there was no work as a doctor for him and he worked in a spaza like shop.
He showed me his old 1940 textbooks he was revising from!!

I mention Brazil, China and SA here. Cuba has an oversupply of qualified people as a whole since they have no jobs there.

Most of these students (Indians mainly) that go study abroad are forced to , due to the local medical schools implementing a quota system.When they come back the government wants to further restrict them from employment , so that the "locals" can get jobs.Its a vicious circle.

This is the underlying cause..so you can’t get a post in SA so you study abroad and on return get told you need to do internship + community to work in SA.

This has almost always been enforced since about 2008/9 I believe.. the medical council will refuse to register you and thus you are unable to work. Some doctors have in the past gotten away without but generally it’s not been a given. 2nly you get placed on a waiting list for a spot in the internship & community which is used after all local students are placed.. so naturally these doctors end up waiting years for a spot and get frustrated.
 
Looks like training doctors is turning into a business in China. Spoke to a guy in another African country who has one kid in China and one yet to follow. It's apparently much cheaper to do it there as they have opened up med schools for English speaking customers.

ag do not not worry after the ANC's decision yesterday they decided F SA die in your horrible state hospitals who cares
