Anyone watched this?

The Hunt for Gaddafi's Billions
Its on iPlayer. And alternative sources
It has local relevance, certainly adds credibility to a story which I thought was a myth. Some of the 'contributors' do come across as spurious though. Definitely worth a watch

The Volunteers which is available on YouTube is a fantastic two-part documentary on a group of Western medical volunteers who helped the Kurds fight ISIS in the height of ISIS rule over Syria. The combat footage is brilliant but spoiler alert, there are some disturbing scenes which show injury and death.

It captures the extremity and carnage of that war in detail.

The Kurds look like a really decent bunch of people, I like that the women also serve in the military.

It's another group that got screwed over by what was probably the British's retarded creation of countries/borders and are basically stateless and generally unwanted in the countries they currently find themselves in.

Yes, the situation seems a lot calmer now fortunately. I also see that Iraqi Kurdistan also seems like a nice place to visit.

The thing that surprised me about this documentary is how the medics keep calm even when people are being killed a few metres away from them but I guess you get desensitized to death when its all around you.

I thought this was excellent and I learned things I did not know, including: The Chinese Govt. initially supressed and delayed information about the outbreak of Covid-19, leading to a death toll much, much higher than their official figure. The Chinese Govt's propoganda against and fear of Western countries' views, and their police's sometimes brutal measures during the initial Wuhan lockdown. The USA also initially downplayed the importance of the pandemic. Trump very early on seemed to originate some of the Covid-19 myths still circulating.

Watched Woodstock 99 last night... 7.5/10

Man what chaos it's basically a lot of drunk college kids and definitely nsfw, also interesting to see how it possible played a role in the success of coachella
