3,2 million taxpayers supporting 50 million people is not sustainable.
To put this in perspective this would be equivalent to the population of Cape Town paying tax and the rest of the country not.

They doing this to get votes.
Nee man, there's children and the elderly in that 50 million. So if 18 million are now jobless and need government grants, that must mean our unemployment is well over 30% (18 million / 50 million = 36%?)
South africa's unemployment sits at 36%? Shocking.
Yeah, ANC, definitely haven't thought this through.
So when this is done there will be just 2 wealth classes: the uber super wealthy (zoomer included), and the poverty stricken, because this will kill the middle class if there are tax implications.
rather the ANC than those racist apartheid DA ex NP twats!
Wait what? This has SACP written all over it. I can't see how in any way a trade union would be involved. The fact that you don't know how to distinguish between the two is worrying. And so they bent over for COSATU again? Shocker.
still puzzling. the ANC introduced that job-creation programme where I think almost 20bn Rand where supposed to be spent to create jobs. Didn't pick up all the details, but heard a few days back that this programme was a complete failure.
You know that the NP became the NNP which was then absorbed into the ANC, right? The only racist here seems to be you. And an ignorant one at that.

I welcome this move.
You know what, you're absolutely right. COSATU doesn't give a flying f*** about unemployed/unemployable people.Wait what? This has SACP written all over it. I can't see how in any way a trade union would be involved. The fact that you don't know how to distinguish between the two is worrying.
That's only because the government there wanted to cover up the real unemployment figures, and they expanded state support to ridiculous levels. It was Margaret Thatcher's government that sought to hide the country's unemployment numbers through state benefits. The further expansion of state support from her government onward became about controlling, not helping people.I wish they would look at the UK. This system has failed there. You get people becoming lazy because there is no need to work if the government is paying you...not to work.
There are plenty of people who would love to have jobs and everyday slog around trying to earn themselves some money. If you think life on their side is easy and just a matter of get a job, then swap places with them. Let me know how it goes. This is hardly going to help anyone or anything. With the current work ethic in this country, there will be even less desire to find a job and sustain yourself.
Im pretty tired of being taxed, and getting very little in return for my contributions.
The DA are many bad things, but racist most certainly isn't one of them. The ANC though seems to manage to be most of those same bad things and incompetent to boot.rather the ANC than those racist apartheid DA ex NP twats!

My only response to this, is the ANC need to go and fsck themselves. I have money because I work for it. The little buggers must be given incentives to work, not just bloody given some of my damn money for nothing!
Agreed. All this will achieve is laziness. Why must I go work if I can get money for no effort?
You'd be happy with R450 a month?
You have 2 options...
Work hard for R1500 - R3000 per month... or sit on your arse and get R450 for absolutely nothing.
