Domaincheap, WebAfrica move, and "hosting"

The cancellation was sorted out.
It would have been more professional the domain cheap stuff was parked or disabled if not opted in.

I'll still remain a webafrica ISP client for now.

Really glad you remaining as a customer and we happy to have you with us :)

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist with and I've passed your suggestion onto our migration team

I am beginning to lose faith that WebAfrica can actually help me. Please WebAfrica Helper can you look at my ticket again? It's as if the technical people at WebAfrica are too scared to touch it.

So now that WebAfrica has f#%$ed u again, and again all my domains are down (previously they removed all my existing DNS entries), I am looking for another host. The support is ridiculous. I need someone that actually someone answers their phones, if they have a live chat feature actually chat and answer their support emails the same f#$#ing day. Is their a local company that has 24/7 support? That will answer a support ticket after hours? Please?

Hi,

So sorry about this :( Our guys were in touch to assist you, please let me know if you're still experiencing issues.

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, we know that this move over to us has been a bit stressful and we're really sorry for any confusion around this issue. But its our mission to get everyone smiling and confident with the move over to Webafrica :)

To cut a long story short we took over Domain Cheap from the 1 October 2015 but only started the migration of the services from 16 November 2015. We've sent the entire Domain Cheap customer base various emails during the course of the move explaining what to expect but looking at a few of the posts here, it seems like some customers have not gotten an email from us. If you have not received any communications around this drop me a PM and I will investigate why.

Now for the major issue everyone here is having: Free hosting moving to R39p/m. This was communicated in our latest emails sent out to all affected customers and if you no longer want this package we will cancel it immediately, remove the invoice and move you onto the free domain parking package. All you need to do is drop me a PM and I will take care of it asap :)

I have received a few PM's already and will get onto them now.

I used to be a happy DOMAINCHEAP customer. One of the cheapest in the market, good service, tickets got resolved in a quick manner.

This week i'm facing my First Renewal with WebAfrica. R99??? WTF??? My previous renewal was R70 with DomainCheap!

I sent them a ticket to see if they will "honour" the old price. no response at all. I waited many days and the ticket was never responded. What will happen when I require a support ticket? Same treatment?

There is plenty registrars out there. lots of them way cheaper.

I moved all my domains out of webafrica in less than an hour to registerdomain.co.za No transfer costs and the renewals at R75. They are all up and running without any hassle.

I highly recommend to get the hell out of WebAfrica. I rather pay e-toll than paying R99 per renewal!

Not a fan of WebAfrica either, but an extra 30 bucks is gonna break the bank once a year? Hell, If I had to pay R199 per co.za per year, I wouldn't notice the difference.

It makes a difference when you have to renew 50 something domains during the year!

If you have more than 1 Domain then Web Africa afrihost or any isp really, isn't the way to do it.

Go use domains.co.za or hostking or hetzner and safe money

Hi

This is very sad to hear and not to mention that we're sad to see you go :( It's totally unacceptable that our guys didn't respond to your email (s) and will be investigating this issue so it doesn't happen in the future. We wish all the best with registerdomain.co.za

Hi,

We can understand where you're coming from, but sadly, the price for domain renewal is set on R99 with us.

SAY WHAT??????

I think it was Lino who introduced us to domaincheap and the catchline was that as long as we had a link as our signature, we would not be charged for hosting a website or something, well this morning I see an email from WebAfrica for some money. You guys must be new as I STILL have domaincheap as my signature and do not use your services at all.

Go Fish somewhere else.
