That does not matter to me at all. They did so with each and every order I placed, but the goods are delivered in 1 business day, irrelevant if the quote says 14 days. It is their deviance from this that caused me to leave them and go elsewhere.

You have been spoiled with good service, and now on one of the busiest days of the year, you expect them to make a concession for you, or the toys will be thrown down.

If quote says 14 days, they have from date of order/purchase to the full 14 days to make good on the delivery. This is what you accepted and paid for.

Cannot understand your logic, and your attitude is such that nobody will give a stuff about your situation as we are seeing. This kind of stuff drives support for the company you are referring to.

Go elsewhere, they will be better off without you.

This is exactly why no one ever exceeds the bare minimum level of service required or promised anymore because then a sense of entitlement like this develops.

And I thought I was an unreasonable consumer...

Actually no they won't be better off without him.
I have also had issues with them recently and have stopped buying from them, though to be honest, they were never high on my to buy from list.
So yeah, drips and drabs, eventually builds up though

In addition to the fact that my budget allows me to spend 3k maximum on delivery if it means I can get it tomorrow, which they are not interested in.

Oh, so because they delivered ahead of schedule in the past, you're now throwing a fit....riiiight

Wow, my 3 year old throws tantrums about "more relevant" issues than OP has with TakeAlot.

And here I had to press retry at least 20 times in the TakeAlot app this morning to checkout my order. Should I take my business to eBay too perhaps?

If you're in a high value businesses, then each and every customer matters. If you're in a volume business, then you are better off without some customers

I bought an item last Friday from them, it's a gift for my mom, whose birthday is the 28th. Their quote said delivered by Tuesday. It's now Friday, I've called them yesterday and today, and it doesn't seem if the courier is even sure exactly where my package is- it's just "on it's way to johannesburg" can't give me any details on anything, even though the issue has already been escalated. I would have thought 7 business days is sufficient lead time for a product advertised as delivered in 2 business days.

I don't even know where to start to explain just what I think of this.

If a store doesn't impress you, leave.

Problem is there was no drips and draps.

The OP admitted that he has received nothing but good service, now, with one order (on one of the busiest shopping days of the year) they can't honor a special request made (after the order) and he throws his toys and leave. Then go. There are very, very few retailers that offers Takalot's service levels. So good luck out there finding one that doesn't slip up every once in a blue moon.

Correct. Good service then, bad service now. No excuses in my books.

Yes, they will probably be better off without me sending them an email querying things. But, I will also be better off now not needing to wonder if and when I will get my orders, especially if I actually know when I should get it.

Probably best for both parties.

I spent just over 400k last year on eBay. I have a clear time frame, and they deliver consistently.

Don't know why I even considered earlier this month to spend on Takealot. Thought it may be worth to spend here, but clearly not.

Bad service? They are delivering according to the timetable promised. So good service. In the past it was great service.

I don't think they will miss you throwing your toys because they didn't deliver ahead of schedule

This guy is a chop. Nothing more to be said.

But it is free delivery...?
