This is so ridiculous, it has to be some kind of joke.

Don't really get it though... :(
 
When Chuck Norris used to work for takealot as a delivery guy, orders were delivered the day before orders were made

Does not matter. In my line of businesses it is. The businesses I deal with looks at this in a serious light. They are not really worried about the R100, R500 or R2000 spenders. They are looking the higher spenders. Even eBay does this. Damn, November last year I had a gift delivered from them by hand from one of their representatives.

But obviously, this is Africa, you guys do not really understand.

Takealot can keep the R500 spenders, I am off elsewhere though.
 
In certain instances companies are better off by telling customers to go elsewhere, because they make unreasonable requested, and (try to) drag their brand/reputation through the mud.

I suspect this is one of those cases.

No, you just sound like one of those customers that are actually not worth the money they spend with the company....

Your hugely wow amazing special R400k spend last year, probably worked out to maybe R40k or R45k profit for Takealot... and I would hazard a guess that you cost them a fair chunk of that in employee time, to the point that you're no better than the R2000 spender in terms of absolute profit, and the R2000 spender is easier to deal with.

Of course, if you had some business and I bought from you, and I asked you to arrange this and I would be prepared to pay the additional money for faster delivery. Would you not? Would you rather tell the client to go?

Why did you leave if they were so great? Did they deliver 6 minutes late once and the you reversed your car through their reception window and then told them you're going to Takealot?

Problem is there was no drips and draps.

The OP admitted that he has received nothing but good service, now, with one order (on one of the busiest shopping days of the year) they can't honor a special request made (after the order) and he throws his toys and leave. Then go. There are very, very few retailers that offers Takalot's service levels. So good luck out there finding one that doesn't slip up every once in a blue moon.
