I think you might be confusing MM with ranked MM....... these stats are for MM as a whole( inclusive normal + ranked ) unless they have changed that since the previous version?

From what I read it was ranked MM, but will have to go back and see. I'd personally say that must be ranked, just seems like it would make more sense with those figures.
 
Well something is wrong getting 20 fps to 30 on the lowest setting tonight
 
Holy smokes, I actually found a ranked game this morning, started searching at around 8am and only took 75min to find one :p

After that game I went to make coffee, searched for 20sec and got another :D

Third one took about 5 minutes to find.

I've found 2 this weekend. Both took under 10min to find. I'm rather impressed.

Ye it's pretty neat,played 9 games on Saturday, still very unbalanced at this stage due to so many people still busy calibrating.

Had one match with all 5 on my team already calibrated, mmr ranged from 500 - 3500

Guess it will improve once calibrations are done and more people start playing, unless is actually starts to negatively affect game search times.....

*edit* wow ok, just played with an oke that had 178mmr........welcome to the mashed potato bracket!

Yea skills levels are very erratic.

I've been trying to play carry or mid each game as after playing my first ranked game the level of play was shockingly bad on both sides. So much worse than what I'm used to seeing in unranked. Guys not knowing how abilities work, what items do, not understanding that single pulling as a lane support pushes the lane out etc..

I suppose at least the games are easy. Frustrating because I'm having to last hit while trying to explain to my support when he needs to pull from which camp to ensure I don't end up having to last hit under their tower but the other team farms so poorly that you just wait it out and stomp later.

The second game wasn't bad though. Quite a few higher skill players in that one. Our mid stomped so hard all I had to do was sit and watch :p

Played a couple yesterday.

Problem I am seeing is that there is usually only 1 support. Buying wards, courier, up courier, more wards, smoke, dust more wards all from one person. Then big teamfight I am level 5 with no ulti then guys start moaning about me being under leveled, but someone had to run around warding top, mid bottom, stack camps, stack ancients. We ended up wining because our Tiny was FAT AF, but it was very annoying. Three games in a row where I was solo support. Will give it another go this arvie, but if the trend continues I will play division rather.
 
Out of the 16 ranked games I played this weekend, 15 of them was support, 9 was solo support.

I honestly don't mind buying every single support item needed, so long as we win the game, which only happens about 50% of the time anyways.

I often think to myself, you know, maybe I should just play carry support, mute the whole team and win the game by myself, which I have done on occasion just out of frustration :p

Yeah, I can understand that. With still a rather small pool, it is hard to balance games. I'd like to think that it will get better over time, and the more that people search ranked, the better the experience will get. The main problem is that lots of people will either try search once, have a 15 min waiting period and say "GG ranked sucks" and never try again. Or if the do get a game, and it has a few players well below their skill level, they will just say "GG, not big enough pool, games unbalanced" and give up ranked altogether.

It one those things that for the experience to be good, we all just going to have to push through the bad.

But I am happy to see the improved numbers on Yasp. Things are looking promising. I hope you all have added the #OSR to your names ;)
 
Search times have drastically improved, that much is a fact. However, valves removal of ALL PICK in ranked has made somewhat of a "bump" in ranked games for the SA scene, as I've heard so many players saying "hey this is my first time playing this hero" By that time you already know the writing is on the wall.

Yeah, that change REALLY didn't come at the right time for SA. But it good to hear that things are starting to happen for our community. I think guys that are in the "Very High Skill" bracket are finding it hard to find some ranked games, but slowly but surely it starting to become easier.

Some interesting times ahead.

Yeah last night I tried to search for my first ranked battle, I thought at about 6pm it would be pretty easy but after 85mins I gave up.

I play in the High-Very high bracket (which may be the problem) but according to chat there may have been some funny server things happening.

I will try again next weekend hopefully with more positive results.
