Dota 2

He is Xeon Phi.

In which case.

@Rickster, your XPM is the lowest of you team, your GPM is the second lowest. So it seems like your team didn't do that badly. You have some blame for yourself in there.. Besides, looking at their stats you were outplayed by them, but looking at the map you were closely matched. Chalk one up for the Match Making system there.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to finding a cure. :)

I never knew support must get farm. -__-

I like how you ignore the rest including the XPM which was the lowest of your team and second lowest in the game.
Everyone needs farm, how else are building the aghs that makes your WD that much stronger? How else are you affording the wards and dewarding and buying TP's for carries? It's not like you're leaving last hits for the carries anymore in a hour long game....

I must point out that my mic wasnt working in this game, but the ingame icon showed i was talking, so i was talking to myself for an hour. We would have won if my mic was working.

Thanks for telling me my mic doesnt work, retards.
Wait, you're complaining that the game is matching you against people you consider to be well below your skill level... but you're losing to them?

Have I missed something?

Note I'm not being nasty here. Don't take this as some sort of poke at you. I do think that you need to stop looking at those useless profile level numbers though. I don't know where you got the idea that those are indications of skill level but they aren't.

I really wish SA did ranked. I don't understand why we don't. I search every now and then trying to find a game but hardly ever do. I don't even have enough games solo to have a calibrated MMR.

Obviously it is desired as SA players have been so quick to latch onto that idiotic profile level number as an indicator of skill. we're clearly hungry as a player base for a skill metric. Are we perhaps too stupid as a player base to collectively realise that that metric already exists in the ranked matchmaking system?

I couldn't agree more! The most common excuse thrown around in SA chat is always along the lines of, "EU is better", "You get used to the ping difference so why not?", "Because 5k mmr in SA is only 2k in EU"..

I'm not sure why everybody just immediately searches EU or where the idea started from, maybe the local player base was too small when SA servers came out?

Ok, all good, but what's the answer to getting ranked local MMR?

I've read the threads about SA players all trying to search at 8pm. Does that still happen? I tried a few times, waited 20min then searched a normal game.

I haven't been playing long enough to know if the player base has grown or shrunk in recent years.
Also not sure why we not "allowed" to see our normal MMR. I understand the game levels mean nothing, but sometimes the level 4 in your group has played only 10 games and the level 50 has 500 wins. Surely they can't have the same hidden MMR?

I've seen those a couple times before, but majority of the players don't actively follow or read up on line threads so they never actually see those and therefor don't actually search local ranked. Another issue could be due to the fact that so many are searching EU, many players are simply not bothering to search local since they don't expect to find anything and couldn't be bothered to play with the delay to EU servers.

This I'm not too sure about, but I do know that a few other games such as LoL (don't shoot me for mentioning it please) also hide your standard MMR.

Players in my team were low level, whilst they didnt have a low level player in their team.

Levels don't matter ****. I watched some of your game. You were moaning about your team at less than 10minutes in. If you were so brilliant, you should've been leading from the front. You're obviously not used to playing support - you were very aggresive against a medusa, so your mana kept getting depleted, which meant you couldn't be as effective. Your sniper and bane were getting pounded, yet you only roamed - tried some lame attempt, took a rune and went back bot, got your ass kicked and tried it again.

You never went to help them gank, you fared poorly against the medusa, and didn't offer to swop with the bane which was doing badly as well. Yeah, I didn't even watch very far in, but in my experience, once players start blaming their team mates, and don't offer any type of advice or similar, they can just as well call GG.

Levels = experience...

Also i did mention that my mic wasnt working but it showed communication ingame, so i thought people were ignoring me.

Maybe in the older levelling system or in Twilight, but not really in the new system. People can now jump levels extremely quickly through purchasing tickets for events and doing simple challenges, which admittedly does increase experience but doesn't mean that any/much learning was actually done.

Be realistic, im level 55 and the guy that was on my team was level 27, you cant be that stupid and say "we both have the same amount of experience".

Why not go to his profile through DotA and take a screenshot for us, we can then see his games played, etc (assuming they're there). Honestly a better way to gauge. Read up on the new levelling system, you might have a whole new perspective on what realistic is...

Levels = number of games played (even this isn't actually strictly true BTW, as has already been pointed out to you)

Number of games played != skill level. (it can, but this is hardly a reliable metric for anything competitive)

Christ this should be obvious. You want to know what skill level someone is check their ranked MMR... oh wait, you can't, because Saffers don't play ranked. Guess you're hosed then. Just stop regarding profile levels as a reliable indicator of skill, it is pathetically stupid.

As an example I have a mate who started dota late. His profile level was low but he played from the start with my mates and I in what Dotabuff calls High and Very High skill games (so I imagine we're around average as opposed to below average in skill). So while his dota profile level is low, he is used to playing at a "High Skill" or "Very High Skill" level. His profile level does not reflect his skill level and experience. When he solo queues now he can play Crystal Maiden and drop 30 kills a game while buying all the support items. That profile level number isn't reliable, you have no idea what that player's actual experience with dota has been up to that point.

Haven't watched the game but supports are supposed to do serious damage and harass early game. A carry cannot win his/her lane alone. Supports are strong early for a reason. If a player is not creating problems in lane for a Medusa, one of the most helpless heroes in early levels, then that player is clearly in the skill bracket he belongs in.

Take comfort in this Rickster, you're where you belong. Welcome to the potato bracket brother, the snacks are in the corner, chill and enjoy, it is just a game.
