Dragon Age Veil Guard

One thing that has confused the hell out of me from the start and that is still confusing me now is that my inventory and wardrobe are two completely different things.

I pick my armor and weapons in the wardrobe in the Lighthouse but then when I open my inventory it's completely different. The items I picked out in the wardrobe doesn't even show in my inventory but I am wearing it in the game. If that makes sense.

Someone please explain :(

Don't know what the devs tried to do here tbh.

The wardrobe is bw's version of transmorph. Its only for appearance not the actual weapon or armour.

Ugh I had to google what this means. Never seen it in a game before, I don't get this system at all.

So in other words many of the weapons etc I buy is for appearance only? Why not give every weapon or armor its own unique stats?

Now I'm wearing a certain suit of armor but in my inventory it's actually something totally different. Still confusing.

I think I've figured it out now lol. In my inventory I pick the weapon or armor with the stats I prefer but then I can pick any of the dozens of weapons/armors from the wardrobe collection to change the look of what i'm wearing without actually changing the stats of the weapon/armor in my inventory. So everything in the wardrobe is basically just a skin.

Maaaaan.... I hate it haha.

It's been in RPGs forever...

Def not in rpgs I've been playing. In games I play every weapon or armor I find or buy has its own unique stats etc. They're not just there for looks. If I wear a suit of armor, it shows that I'm wearing it and I can't choose a completely different suit of armor to overwrite the look while keeping the stats of another armor/weapon. Every rpg I've played only has 1 inventory system, not a secondary wardrobe whatever.

Veilguard is the first game I've played that does this.

Inquisition had it  is this your first DA game?

Diablo 3 and 4, Destiny 2 and many others dating all the way back to WoW...

Can't remember this, been years since I last played it. Are you sure though? Because reviews I've seen say Veilguard is the very first DA that has a transmog system. I definitely didn't get this confused in Inquisition. "A series first" they say.

This is from the Veilguard wiki:

For the first time in the series, transmog (transmogrification) will be available at launch. This lets you take an armor's stats and apply it to a different piece of armor so that you can keep using armor whose visual style you prefer. Transmog is available for both Rook and their companions.[1]

Also, I've never played Diablo, WoW or Destiny.

Diablo is amazing. Even if you just play the campaign of Diablo IV. All the Diablo games have taken more time in my life than any other games.

Diablo IV is on Game Pass if you want to give it a try.

Maybe one day. I know I'm one of the few who never played it but I've never been a big fan of dungeon crawlers.

Just because it let this video exist. Veilgaurd 10/10, best game ever.

Spoilers ahead for those playing.

Can someone please post a high res pic of just the bottom text in the game from when they're speaking?

I'm working on some font rendering myself and theirs look great. All the pics on the internet are either scenic shots without text, low res or upsampled.

Not 100% sure but it does look like they using Astoria or a variation of it. (Subtitle text?)

Not sure if this helps or if quality is enough. I set the subtitles to its largest setting :)
